I was under the impression the 350Z's that experienced abnormally high oil temps were mostly forced induction conversions driven under extended extreme conditions, like long track/drift sessions under full boost. IF your planning to flog your Z for long sessions, adding an oil cooler is recommended. The majority of the stock normally aspirated versions driven on the street should be fine as is. If you're worried about oil temps, adding a oil temp gauge should ease the concern. I could be wrong but I think it was 2006 is when Nissan added an oil temp sensor to the 350z that would trigger a self preservation mode if oil temps got beyond a certain point. Enjoy
