Sorry for the noob question. Tried searching, didn't find much.
17x9 wheels. Would I get more stretch out of a 205/50 or a 215/45?

I would personally go with a 225/40 as it's a more common size.

215/45 because of the smaller side wall.

215-205 is only 5mm smaller on eiter side of the tire tred

I'm running 17x9 with 235/45 on the front and 245/45 on the rear.

so of these two sizes, which would be best to go on the front? going off of what nando said, the 215/45's for the front and the 205/50 for the rear?

I know its a little cheaper to (STRECH) tires but whats the point it looks like crap handles even worse and weres the hell out of your tires just put the proper size on there so you have a 17/9 then you would want a 255 on thereat the very smallest a 245 sorry just my 2cents but I have run them on lots of different cars and really theres no point unless your a riced out honda trying to look cool. I mean no disrespect but look into the pros and cons befor you do something like streching your tires. Oh and I know this from person exp. if your gonna drift with streched tires pray to god you dont' blow one out becasue you will sooner or later when I was sidways with a stock ka maybe at 20mph my driver side blew out and I thought I was gonna flip the car so just a little FYI and be careful if you do do it

as its been said time and time again, its all about preference. i actually like the way stretched tires look. not ridiculously stretched, but stretched to a certain degree looks pretty nice.
these are going on a daily driver / beater. no tracks here in hawaii unfortunately, so these are never seeing any real abuse, other than a weekend slide session or two. stretched tires cant be THAT unsafe considering the amount of people that run them have no real problems, or so what i've heard locally atleast. i guess it comes down to if they were mounted correctly or not. i got mine mounted at garage js4kix, responsible for this :

safe to say they know how to stretch tires safely :werd:

ANYWHO! nando was right. put the measurements in a tire size calculator thing in excel. 45's stretch more in addition to sitting 5.7mm lower. thanks nando! :bigthumb:

I highly disagree that this is a common size. It is not, but I wish it was.

:werd: This, I agree with for the stretch your looking for.

OP, why not just go to http://www.Rimtuck.com and see what sizes you like?
