i've got a 89 s13 and so im runnin a SOHC ka. which to be honest im not exactly too fond of because of the lack of mpg, etc. anyway im doing some research on the ka24de and the sr20 and well i've gotten a bunch of mixed responses. such as: i'll end up spending more because of the different parts i'll have to put in the ka to get it turbo ready. The sr engine will end up costing me more than turbo'in a ka.. etc. so im basically confused as hell.

with either engine swap i'd want to turbo it eventually, and well i was wondering which would end up being cheaper.Swapping a DOHC in and turbo'ing it or...Swapping in a SR20 and turbo'in it..

The SR20 is going to be cheaper than swapping in the KA DOHC and prepping it for turbo (if your doing it right)There are always those people who will advocate either side with good arguments. I will be honest, I'm a big fan of the SR (mainly because I have one). But I have seen KA's that were faster than SR's but with much more money. Displacement is also something to consider KA2.4 vs. SR2.0, more displacement means more potential for power because displacement makes torque. The main thing you should consider is how far you want to take this.Use the search button more, I'm sure if anyone else responds to your thread it will contain a flame and a scolding on this being such a popular repost.

Good luck, and welcome to NICO

Taking that wing off will shave off a few tenths on the quarter mile, nice cheap mod I would say go SR if you are looking for a 250-300hp daily driver.
