You really think so? I run a 205/55/16 on my 16x7s, and they still roll over when driven really hard. I have been wanting to bump up to 225/50s, but the sidwall would be a bit more than square, causing even more flex.SR_Smith wrote:7" is perfect with for a 225/50-16 so no, the Nismo wheels aren't too skinny.
he's right. if you're gonna have to run spacers you might as well just rollstock wheels.naed240sx wrote:You do realize that those are some really ****ty sizes as far as offset goes don't you? I mean sure, they are good wheels, but they won't fit that great.
Yeah I know they aren't great offsets, but I was looking for a set that I wouldn't mind if they got scrapped up or anything like that. I was looking at Sport Max's but everybody rocks them, no one around here does, but I don't know. Thanks for all of your input, I'll probably just end uo getting some Sport Max's or some Gram Lights that I can get in a strong offset and a good size.continental_drift wrote:he's right. if you're gonna have to run spacers you might as well just rollstock wheels.
pay more attention to the size and offset rather than the wheel face, wheel sizing should be your primary concern. search around this foruma bit and you'll get a good feel for what different sizing and offsets looklike on s13's.
and for the record, I'm not a fan of any of those wheels.
Thanks! Yeah I knew they were totally different wheels, but they are ones that are affordable and look good too . Those are nice wheels on Chris's FB, I'll have to look into them.continental_drift wrote:just so you know dude, theres a big difference between sportmax and gram lights.
in the construction and the weight. you should check out nismofly's koseiwheels. they're not that exciting to look at (sorry chris, heh) but they comein good sizes and they're cheap. they are basically a buddy club wheel thatis labeled kosei from what I understand.
i'd check out like craigslist or ebay and see what else you can come up with.there's plenty of decent wheels on the cheap, just gotta dig a little.
you may see them come up for sale used locally, like I do from time to time.a set of 16's like chris has, with tires, were offered to me for 400 bucks so just keep your eyes open and get the facts first.nismofly wrote:now youd have to import them for about 3 times what i payed for them
Thought so, I did the dealer thing and it went back to the site. I'll have to ask her about it. Thanks again Chris!nismofly wrote:actually like most companies they dont sell wheels through their site
however i do know that when skydragoness was looking to get them she went direct to team dynamics, theyre actually a british company...id say give them a call
especially since the dealer locator on their site goes right back to the site, doesnt list any actual dealers
Waiting is no problem. First I'm going to get a new KA for it, then with the money I have left I plan on spending it on either wheels or suspension for the first mod.nismofly wrote:sure thing, fyi i think they told her it was going to be a few months, so if you need them now you might need to look for someone that stocks them in the states
That's all dependent on the tire, from my experience I find Bridgestone's to have some of the hardest/stiffest sidewalls around. When I used to run RE950's (their a/s perf tire) I would autocross in them and not once did the sidewalls scrub. I do the 'chalk' test when i autocross, scrape a line of chalk on your sidewalls to determine if its rolling or not. I would come back to the pits and check the tires and the chalk would still be there!naed240sx wrote:You really think so? That's awesome! I thought for sure they would be more than that. I'll email them one of these days and ask for a quote. Thanks for the help everyone! It's very appreciated.skydragoness wrote:Team Dynamics are awesome wheels, the Pro Race 1's and 2's are lightweight and decently priced. Not to mention practically no one has them. You can get offsets as low as +20 (i think). Like Nismo said, there's a wait since our bolt patterns and offsets are just not in demand (Miata bolt patterns x100 patterns are way more common). Anyhow, if i remember correctly the guy at TD quoted me $130 a wheel for the Pro Race 2's, maybe a little extra for the offset i wanted.
