Both are 17". The offset's are a bit different. The 350Z wheels are flush with the fender, the chrome ones are a bit inside the fender. The chrome ones are the same width and tire size front and rear. The 350Z wheels are staggered, (wider in the rear).

These...

Or these...

Sure the max wheels are nice but i'd prefer the chromes since they have a more eye catching look to them.

Neither really catches my eye, but overall I prefer the Z wheels.

The second set looks way to pepboys/autozone/advance/sears cheap looking to me- ruins the elegance of the car

Which wheels are stronger, lighter, have the desired 8.5" width?

I am not driving it, you are. That is what is important.

When you are operating the vehicle, static looks are totally irrelevant. Dynamic performance is what counts!

Second set of wheels look like they came off of a Pontiac GrandPrix. Ew.

Definitely the first set. Lots of chrome just doesn't work well for a non-black Q45. Aluminum is a much better contrast to the paint.

Thanks for the comments. I have both sets. I will prob. have to use the chrome ones for a while because the Z wheels need new tires and the chrome ones are nearly new.

I do love my Z wheels.

In theory the Z wheels (with lower offsets) will give you a slightly wider "track" and that should translate into better handling.

Reality is, check the date codes on the tires with more tread. if they're old enough, they won't preform better, they just look liike they have more tread.

Stay with 17's for as long as you can. Better tires are more affordable in those sizes.

The second set just don't fit. Too flashy or something.

Ok, since it's nearly unanimous towards the Z wheels what about the center caps? They say Nissan on them currently. Thinking about removing the Nissan name and filling in holes and repainting.

Or just leave the holes?.....

The center holes or the little dimples on the spokes?

You can find Infiniti caps for the centers, measure and check ebay.

Filling the dimples is a bad idea.

No, no filling in dimples. Talking about the center hub hole. Will the Infiniti ones match the color of the wheels? Is that a pretty typical Nissan/Infiniti color?

Get some Infiniti center hub hole covers (if you can find them) and paint them the same maroon as your car!

That would look pretty awesome, I think.

And, yes, I like the first set of wheels much better!!!

I'm pretty sure. If nothing else, they'll match "close enough". Look for the 2003 G35 coupe 17" wheels. You'll see the similarity.

I bought Robert Bowen's Q a while back - it's the same color as yours, but a '93. It came with 350z touring wheels - 18 inch. I found a deal on 350z 17 inch wheels with new Pirelli's and put them on - I think they are identical to what is on your car. So for my opinion, instead of looking at your pictures, I walked outside and looked at my car (minus the grill) and ...mmmmmm...I think it looks great - perfect balance of size and finish.

I'll be honest, everytime I see chrome rims on cars not from the 60's and 70's (even then) I look at em in disgust. They always have a cheapy-esque look to them, and my father agrees.

350Z ones look pretty good

Don't go changing on me now!!! I followed you and got the 350z wheels for my Q. Mine looks so much sportier than the piepans, and the stance is awesome with the lesser offset. I still have the nissan center caps until I get some infiniti ones. Those chrome wheels look too generic to me.Vandi.

Wow, didn't realize I had a following! "I wanna be like Shane" . I'm keeping the Z wheels, don't worry.

I think I'm gonna see if the chrome ones will fit my beater Toyota p/u daily driver. Then it would handle like it's on rails! Negative offset may be too much tho and the mileage will probably go down the drain.

Good thing you're keeping the Z wheels. I got a used set, along with the Bridgestone Potenzas that I believe were delivered with the donor Z.

I replaced them with a new set of Toyo Proxes 4, which had a higher load rating (1653 lbs versus 1477) and the handling is great!

Besides, the center cap is so small, you really have to be looking for the Nissan logo.

Bottom line, the 350Z rims are easier to keep clean than the stock BBS 15" rims, and gave my '94 warrior an updated look.

Enjoy!

Those do look nice. I'll have to check on some Infiniti center caps. I don't really mind the look with the caps off, gives it a little attitude I think.

Thought about it, I already have Tokico Blues installed and the ride is firm, wouldn't want it any stiffer. I have Eibach's on my 540 looks sweet but rides like a go kart.Kinda wierd when you think about it, I feel like I know most of you guys just from reading your post all these months, got to know the personalities. So, If I may,I'm Ken, I have a 92Q 188k best/worst purchase I've ever made, about 6 years ago.its my daily driver ( 90 miles a day ) most interesting car I've ever owned.
