Hey guys, havent posted on here for a while but I have a chance right now so im gunna take advantage of it. I've got a custom exhaust onn my 2010 a/c. its a single-in dual-out mufller similar to stock but much smaller and with less restriction. my problem is that i still want it louder. Its noticeably louder than stock, kinda sounds like the LSD exhaust that was just released, just a little throatier. so my options are to: 1) remove my stock resonator 2)get wider piping from the resonator back to the muffler 3) dont touch it. on my old car, i removed the resonator and it sounded like lawnmower on steroids but idk how the a/c sounds w/o it .thank guys

Resonator delete = lawnmower on any typical 4 cylinder including Altima 2.5.

Hate to disappoint ya but listen to some youtube videos. You'll hate them haha. Yeah a proper resonator really saves the 4 bangers from their rasp and fart can type sound. However a good 2.5" exhaust and muffler is all you need for proper sound along with the resonator. I don't know how loud your car is already, but typically a straight through muffler like many Magnaflow's are good for loudness/depth. I run a Magnaflow muffler 5x8 on my Sentra 1.8 and you can hear the rumble (as lame as it is being 1.8) from far away. However you'll probably want a dual outlet type which is another story.

Nismo, Stillen and LSD I think are probably one of the best sounding ones without getting raspy and embarrassing.

right now ive got a dual outlet muffler. what do u guys think about getting wider piping??? Nismo and Stillen sound a bit too high pitch on the 2.5 and i liked the setup of the LSD but after meeting up with guy that had his car prototyped(jun), i saw/heard that my car sounded deeper. he even asked if it was a 3.5 :bowrofl:

as much as i eat rice-burners, this a/c manages to pull it off well. but i live in orange county and the cops down here will stop you for every little thing, including a modified exhaust(but they usually stop the high-pitched annoying civics :lolling: ) but like i said in the title, i want a deeper sound

straight pipe or exhaust cut out is super loud but very deep. high RPMs sound so s*** tho

or u can keep stock piping and delete the muffler then get it y piped to keep the dual exhaust setup. louder, but not loud. its juuuuust perfect to me. deep and low and doesn't sound bad at high RPMs but leave the resonator on it!

*oh yea only costed me $80 to remove the muffler, put new piping, and keep the tips.

u cant put a high flow cat on the 2.5 QR. the cat is welded INSIDE the exhaust manifold. aka - the 'header'

just get the header. its worth it.
