I'm tapping into the wires coming out of the factory amp behind my rear drivers side quarter panel, running a line output converter, and using that as the RCA signal for my subwoofer amp. I see 12 wires coming out of the top right corner of the amp. I'm assuming that these are six pairs, one for each speaker. Trouble is I'm not certain of which wires are pairs- none seem to come out together. I'm also not sure if just any pair will be my best bet- is the signal coming from the amp the same to every speaker? (specifically tweeters). From the top left of the wire group i see

RED BLACKBLACK GREENGREY GREENGREEN PURPLEPINK BLUEBLACK GREEN

so which two??? I may just try to pop out one of my door speakers, and see what color those wires are, to narrow things down/ tap in at the speaker end instead.thanks in advance,-Nick

so after removing some of the black tape that covers the wires after leaving the amp I've noticed a few more things that might be helpful. the top RED BLACK combo gets twisted together, as does the bottom BLACK GREEN pair. Maybe these pairs are for the rear speakers? Also, the BLACK GREEN pair right below the top RED BLACK pair is of a heavier gauge wire. Could these be the inputs for the amp?

Assuming you haven't bypassed the stock head unit, I would think that your best bet would be to tap the post-amp wires since you are setting up a line-out converter. However, you would also assume that you could just eliminate the line-out setup and possibly tap the pre-amp wires (unless the pre-amp voltage from the head unit is low, which it probably is). The question I have is when you do a line-out converter setup for a mono subwoofer(s), do you just patch together the line-out signals for your left/right to make one signal?

Also, the amplifier in your rear driver side quarter panel only amplifies the rear door speakers. Your front speakers are self-amplified (each front door speaker has an amplifier attached to it inside the door) and your tweeters are wired in parallel to those two front door speakers. So when you tap the post-amp wires for your line-out converter, you will only be receiving the audio for the rear door speakers, which won't matter since the only thing that matters is the left and right channels.
