I own a 1992 240sx w/ Redtop SR, mostly stock besides downpipe, elbow and Walbro 225lph fuel pump. My T2slow (t25) is nearing the end of it's reign, and I'm looking to upgrade.I've been looking around various options from Garrett, HKS (which is Garrett), Greddy, and the S15 Spec R, but the options are VERY abundant.

I'm looking for something quick spooling and AFFORDABLE, as it is a daily driver, as well as an occasional track day drifter. Looking for around the 300hp range, might go higher, but not for a while.

Anyone have any suggestions and/or recommendations?

it seems like you are going to end up with a S15 t-28. Its the stock S15 turbo. it will make your goals,

I have just started to look into Borg Warner units, but I don't know which one will get you the numbers you want. I run the S15 turbo now. it spools fast and makes for a good long lasting turbo. If you take care of it.
