Which trans line is which? Cooler install?

I want to install a trans cooler in the 96' Sentra GXE and I'm not sure which trans line goes to the cooler and which is the return. Should I just bypass the internal cooler in the rad.? If I use both, should the trans fluid go through the rad first or the add on cooler?I didn't want to make a mess by running the engine with one of the lines off to figure this out. Please help? Thanks! Jeff

I would just bypass the internal radiator cooler and run it through your aftermarket cooler.

"The most often asked question is should I bypass the radiator cooler when I install a auxillary cooler.Most cooler manufactures and automobile manufactures information we have read, recommends installing the coolers In-Series with the factory radiator cooler for maxium cooling efficiency.So unless the manufactures who have spent 1000's of hours testing different installations are wrong, the suggested cooler installation is in-series......Transmission > Radiator cooler > Auxillary cooler > then Back to the transmission. The main purpose of the in rad heat exchanger is to warm up ATF faster in winter as the AT control unit uses ATF temp to control shift firmness.
