Falken fk452's or General Exclaims??

Both have had great reviews, price is kinda close....i've had falkens before on a previous car and liked them....the generals though i'm hesitant b/c i don't know of any direct comparissons between the 2.

What do you guys think...post your thoughts, experiences, and general bs

300AA(falken)vs 380AA(general)... my question would be is a higher thread count better? like would the tire last longer?

Yeah the higher treadwear rating the longer the tire lasts...but 300 vs 380 is only like 10k i believe...and with our cars weird camber probably less of a difference....in the next year i'm not going to be driving my car much b/c of my travel schedule for work....i'll be gone 75% of the year

Just Call me the General lol

Im telling buy the Generals and come back and thank me later! They are quite and last forever! You will have trouble Breaking them loose in any type of weather!

I had these on my lexus is 300 and you could drive the car like a crazy person in the FLA rain and never loose traction or hyrdoplane!

I am like 3-5 weeks away from making the purchase for my sedan on all 4 corrners!

245 35 19 front and 255 35 19 rear! I can't wait

You would be stupid to go with the falken's!!

Had a set of them on my lexus and they only lasted like 20k miles and i would have gotten 40-50k on the generals!

Other Nico Members have them and love them!

I just voted for the Falken's

Why would you do the 512 over the 912?

I am due for tires anytime this month. My Kumho SPT's have about 22k miles on them and are about done. I do abuse them daily so I'm happy with the tread life. I'm looking at Falken 512's as a potential replacement because they come in 235/50/17 and I bottom out daily with 235/45/17's

Tampa should be a General Tire rep!

I look at the tread life difference like this, softer tread compounds have a shorter life but offer better traction. Unless the Falken is 10/32nd new and the General is 11/32nd new.

The 512's aren't an option for me...i'm going with their FK 452...seems to be a really good mix of performance and grip as to treadwear...pretty new tire and they have the sizes i want.

Hey it really depends on what you want these tires for.

If you like taking curves fast DO NOT BUY GENERAL EXCLAIM! They have thin side walls and flex to ****.... makes your G feel like a minivan when cornering.

The only thing good about these tires is hydroplaning resistance..... feels like there is no water on the road... it's pretty amazing.

That only happens if you have 18's or 17's

If you have the 19's which I think he does, the sidewall won't be large enough to ever make a difference! We have to go with a 35 or 30 sidewall

245 35 19 front and 275 30 rear!...

What size are you running that you get that effect?

Buy Toyo Proxes T1R---you can never regret it. Amazing tires on any curve both dry and wet conditions. I fly through curves, and you can feel the car sliding a little but yet it is pinned down 100% on the road--unbeleivable tires. I have scared a few friends with the speed in which i am able to go through curves---they have al refused to ride with me anymore---Thank you Toyo Proxes T1R. Tire still grips like mad after 10,000 miles.

I have the 245/45/18 rear and 225/45/18 front.

I had Michelin Pilot Sport and the side wall was MUUUUUCH stiffer and the car handled great.... and that tire isn't anything special.

Maybe with 19's the effect is less pronounced, but only imagine if you had a tire with a stiff side wall how it would feel!.

The thin side wall makes the car so unstable, even regular lane changes at 70mph don't feel like they used to. No way I'm ever buying this tire again... not on a sports car.

You must of did major burn outs! There is no way in Helll that a tire with a rateing of 380 would be gone in 7k miles!

If you are doing regular smoke shows then yea I would say you would only get 7k

Hey if you had the potenzas they would have been gone in like 2-3k

Sorry Jacko...toyo's just don't have the treadwear i want.

I think i'm pretty set on the going with the Falkens as from what i'm seeing they just get rated better and have fewer problems per 100

i am really not kidding

first, i go cheap, that's why i go with General because is only 147 on tireracksecond, my benz is a 2.3L I4 SC engine, so it give out only 180RWHP, is WEAK SAUCEthird, since i am on budget, i will like to save gas, tires, and transmission fourth, my car is slam on with Bilstein PSS9 Coilover, so that thing is stiff as hell when you are riding with it, you could feel every single tire thread on your bac fifth, you can see only the inner tire is worn out, so is easy to tell my car is on negative camber, instead of zero sixth, my car is now giving me so much problem so that's why i got myself a G35 coupe

So you must of had a Bad tire! My experience with them on my lexus was great! I never had any tire handle like that. I had Goodyear eagle, Falkens, and the Generals! It was like the car was glued to the road!

Hands down The GENERAL Exclaim is what I will be putting on my car! Sorry to hear you got a bad tire but you should have shipped it back and had tire rack replace it! They have great Customer service and would replace that tire free as it is faulty! You still might want to call and see what they can do for you!

+1 on the Toyo's! I've had mine on for 17k+ and I've probably got another 3k left. The OEM Bridgestones lasted only 13k (rear's were bald!). Love my Toyo Proxes

I had toyo's on my focus svt before...i went through then in 16k....

Frankly I'm amazed i've gotten 20k out of the bridgestones with how i like to slide around corners lol....i'm sure the few burnouts i did didn't help.

My bridgestones made it to 19K--front tires--my rears would have made it to 22K. Bridgstones where so bad in the rain---I always felt I had to pray before driving my car in the rain because I had no idea what would happen in the rain. I was always scared like this in the rain with my G with the Bridgestone tires. But with the Toyos, I am now confident of the ride---puts a big smile on my face, like this
