I set my timing as per the FSM today. It looks awesome when checking the timing in "timing mode", but when I plug TPS back in the timing is retarded 5 degrees. Which one is correct? Do you set it at 15 degrees in "timing mode" and forget it, or is when the TPS is in and everything is "normal" the correct timing? I'm confused.

Set it to 15 degrees BTDC (2nd mark from left on the crank pulley) in "timing mode", then forget about it :)

Second mark from the right you mean. Second mark from the left is TDC. Set it and forget it just like the rotisserie chicken thing:D

No, I meant the 2nd mark from the left.

That's if you are removing the valve cover and stabbing the CAS. I think it's called base timing. I was talking about if you are adjusting it by turning the CAS back and forth while the car is running and using a timing light. Someone slap me if I'm retarded.

Both are different methods to reach the same result.

In one you're using the timing light to verify, the other you're actually visually checking the CAS. In both cases you end up just spinning the CAS to adjust timing.

Yes. You are correct sir.(Ed McMahon):D Second from the left(TDC) is used when you remove the valve cover.
