Your stock turbo will do about 250whp. T28 (from S14 SR or S15 SR) will do a max of 300whp. 2871R will give you 350whp or maybe more, depending on the a/r trim. So these all have the stock flange and you won't need a new manifold for them.

If you want a t3 flanged turbo for that power I'd get a t3/t04e .48 a/r turbine. Good stuff.

Stick with the T25 flanged turbos.....whether it be a GT25R or GT28RS....u can make 350 all day and have great spool up time.....or u could go with a Ball bearing HKS (GT2540, GT2835) if u have the means.......Garrett also offers some pretty nice BB turbos for a lot cheaper than HKS.

If u wanna make more power and need to go with a T3 flanged turbo then I'd reccommend either a Precision SC-61 (thrust bearing) or even a GT30R (BB)

good point. if you stick with the t2 flange you can keep the stock manifold. the stock manifold rocks! mike kojima once said the stock rwd det mani was better than most aftermarket fwd manis.

...howeverthe same turbo with a t3 flange and smaller a/r will make more power and spool faster(so i hear).

for that hp goal, just get the gt2871.

That's what I hear also. The GT25R is a great example of a mismatched turbo. It has a huuugggee t04s compressor housing and a small turbine and I understand the smaller a/r version makes full boost at around 4000 and is good for a max of about 350whp. I think a t3 would do a little better.

I want to see a dyno of a 2871r.

my friend i agree but be carefull. some folks who love that turbo are just plain nazis about it. thats not really around here though. i would take the 2871 over the so called gt25r. i would really like a good reliable manifold with a gt30r. that turbo is capable of crossover(so i hear) meaning big power. i also hear that you CAN get full boost just over 4000rpm on a gt30r with the right setup.

im planning to dump my sc-50 t3/t4 and go with a Garrett GT35R. It wont be until im done school in a year or so but i plan to made some big numbers. Also Ill never buy a non-BB turbo again. Although the thrust bearing t3/t4 does make full boost under 4K....i just need more than 440rwhp. Im a HP freak....

i talked to a guy with a gt35r once. he said he had no problem achieving crossover but had to modify the turbo to stay out of the surge zone. because of the crossover he was able to run some cams that are really aggressive by na standards even.
