Ditto, except for Castrol, Mobil 1 is always in stock otherwise.Kompresshun wrote:I used to be a Mobil 1 only guy, but I have been using Pennzoil Platinum for over a year now and haven't felt the need to buy anything else. If they're out of stock on Pennzoil i'll usually buy Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntec as an alternative.
Probably what made me start looking at Pennzoil Platinum is because we have used it in our service vans at work for a long time. I figure it it's good enough to keep vans going for 300k+ miles then it's probably good enough for my cars.Ace2cool wrote:Question:what prompted you guys to switch from mobil1 to_______?
I wanted to try Pennzoil and once I did my engine didn't sound as loud. I even did an oil analysis once and according to BITOG members it was fantastic.Ace2cool wrote:Question:what prompted you guys to switch from mobil1 to_______?

I used to buy through Anthony on here, but he's MIA now. Off the shelf is insane, though. No way I could do that. But when I can get a 5 qt jug of Mobil1 at walmart for $27, I can't think of anything cheaper for full synthetic.Nismovs wrote:Ace, are you buying off the shelf or a dealer for amsoil?
Supertech full synthetic. $17 here for the 5+ qt jug.Ace2cool wrote:Nismovs wrote: I can get a 5 qt jug of Mobil1 at walmart for $27, I can't think of anything cheaper for full synthetic.
Short answer, yes absolutelyCelticZ111 wrote:Can l switch to synthetic, in my 2012 Nissan Rogue? It had 11,500 on it when l bought it. It's next oil change wasn't supposed to be until July/Aug or 13,500 miles.
