Which speakers for factory replacement

So I've seen ALL the threads about speakers sizes, etc. I already know the front is 6x9 with a 3" depth.
The problem I'm having is Crutchfield is telling me only two speakers will fit the rogue.

Is this true? Is the 3" depth a real problem? What speakers have you upgraded without any modification?

There's tons of ways to get speakers in the front. And you also don't HAVE to use a 6x9 up front. You can use a 6.5" (which to me, round sounds better then oval) with an adapter.
