did you guys use the RB slave cylinder, or KA?

reason being because i used KA, and im wondering if that has anything to do with my gears not going in smoothly. each gear goes in a little rough. could it be my slave cylinder?

how far off the floor does your pedal release the clutch? a few inches from the floor? a few inches from the top? right about the middle?

Well, it just depends on what RB you have.

The RB20 uses and can use the KA slave cylinder.

The RB25 and RB26 trannies use a different slave cylinder and you have to use the one that either came with the transmission, or buy a new one from online somewhere.

What you need to do is check the distance that the slave cylinder you have is moving. Get someone underneath you car and push the clutch in. Measure the distance that the pin on the slave cylinder is moving. If it is moving about an inch or so, then it is fine. However, if it is moving 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch, then something is not right. And it may not even be your slave cylinder. It can also be your master cylinder as well.

And while we are on the subject. The reason your RB is not going into gear smoothly is because the synchros may be shot on the transmission. What type of fluid are you using? What did the fluid look like when you drained the fluid out? Where there any abnormal metal chunks on the drain plug? Was there any copperish/bronzish colored specs in the fluid?

Even more, how well did you bleed your clutch system? If you have any doubt that you may not have bled it well enough, then that is priority one, and of course the easiest one. How does the clutch fluid look?

Give us some more information and we may be able to help you on what the problem is....

im using 80/90 lucas gear oil with lucas stabilizer, no weird or unusual metal specs or chunks, but i did have to replace the ball joint that the clutch fork rests on (however i think that is irrelevant). and it would be extremely unlikely that each gears' syncro is shot.

i havent blead the clutch system, because it was working fine with my KA before the swap.

i did just have a new (stage 2) clutch put in (not by me). could it be the pedal adjusment??

if im at a stop and i slowly bring the shifter into each gear real slow, almost pausing before it gets into gear, i can feel it start grinding if i keep it halfway in gear. this is for every single gear.
