which side is the knock sensor located on my 1994 j30

I know the knock sensor on my 1994 j30 is on the block near the intake manifold but what i need to know is on what side?

Dead center near the back of the block.Under upper and lower Plenums.

could you please send me a picture of the location, also is it possible to reach it with out pulling out the whole engine?

You have to pull the upper and lower plenum.Not a fun job.Some peeps relocate it instead.

A buddy of mine that used to be on this forum did it and swore he would drive it off a cliff before doing it again.

Don't know and don't recommend seeing if it can be removed with the plenum off, and the EGR valve and other assorted goodies removed. The bolt holding it to the top of the block might be too long to remove with the intake manifold still in place.

Pulling the plenum isn't such a bad idea if you replace and clean any number of things that are underneath and associated with it.

Relocate.
