Just finished some minor mods.. but am seriously looking into adding better rims.. prolly the stock ones on the 3.5 at this point. My question is that is there anything extraneous I would need, as in sensors for the tires or anything of the sort? Or will it be fine just installing these guys without a problem? thanks again for all the help!
All you need is new tires obviously. You have everything else. They will fit just fine.

That's a good idea - Make sure you specify non-stock wheels - or you will get folks posting pictures of the 4 cylinder hubcaps with "modified" chrome valve stem caps.

BTW I like the wheels - Stock altimas look like they are wearing baby shoes - I know you are really amped to get the new ones on.

LongBeach, you're right. Not everyone on 20's will be wearing 30's. But, the 30's would be the most appropriate tire there is. The 35's shouldn't be a problem, but for me personally, I would just go with the closest OEM spec possible. You probably won't have any rubbing issues unless you slam the car. In fact, you could probably even go with a pro-kit 1" drop and clear. It all boils down to preference. On my truck I went from 55 to 60's because of price and convenience without any problems. You'll be good. Hurry up and mount those boys so we can see them!!

your 20's on 35's should fill up an extra inch of the gap so it'll look good. I'm on 18's with 45's and I still need an inch drop to look decent. I'm just waiting for a local retailer to bring them in because I can't see myself paying almost $100 to ship a set of springs when the springs themselves only cost $229!!!

I just got an 08 Altima Sedan in Dark Slate. Thinking about going with these 20 inch Giovanna Cuomo wheels. What you think?

Better not be speeding on RT 9...No tint in Freehold unless you want to appear in court...

NJ stinks, but with 20" chromes i guess you wont be at englishtown anyways!

Yea NJ is the worst...no tint in the front and front license plates are mandatory.

I never drive rt 9, worst road ever.

How close to the 20's come to the fender anyway?

tire profile matters... 35 is a little big, 30 is a little small... it should take up the same amount of space if you go by the smart guys.. they say a 35 profile on a 20" will take up an extra inch of the well... a 20" with 30 profile should be the same size...

yea I was just checking out Generics post. I'm thinking it makes more sense for me to go with the 30's.

Just remember though, your sidewalls at 245/30 will only be 2.9" so it will be a pretty rough ride. That's the correct size to run if you're at 245 on 20's, but then you sacrifice some comfort. If you go larger with the 35's, the sidewall will be at 3.4" so it won't be as harsh. Your bladder may thank you for it

I'm rollin' on 18x8 w/ 245-45-18 Federal Super Steel's. The ride is LOUD!! Wrong choice of tires for me. They grip like it's on rails, but they're loud! I love the way they handle, even in the rain, but I hate the noise. The ride is of course, more harsh than stock 50 series tires, but the handling is a fair trade-off in my opinion. I was originally going to buy 19's, but I couldn't imagine riding on 40 series tires. No thank you.

It's all a matter of preference. It will be very different from your stock ride, especially when and if you drop your car. You'll feel every little bump in the road. But hey, if it looks good and you're happy, that's all that should matter. One thing you might get irritated at is when hitting a bump or pothole, anything loose in your car (eg. loose change, cd's in the door slots, etc) will shake and shimmy. I like a quiet ride but even on 45's, I hear every little sound.

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position Tires-225/45ZR18 (reccommened size for 18" wheels I found on the fourm on altimacoupes.com) and they are perfect. They look and handle great + they are very quite. We payed a little more for the tires but they seem to be worth it. There are great reviews on all tires on tirerack.com, the place I reseached many options. To me buying tires is like buying soccer cleats, you pay for what you get. You can buy Addidas and there are many models to choose from. Buy what suits your needs the best, but reaseach the reviews before the purchase. A little reseach can give you a lot of info at your finger tips

If I had too do it all over again I would buy the same exact package.

I was going to buy the Pole Positions but they wear super-duper-duper fast!! My friend was running those on his car and they only went 15K and they were BALD!! I guess you can't expect too much with a treadwear rating of 220, that's to be expected. I went with the Federal's because they were cheaper and are great ultra-high performance grippers. But like I said before, they're LOUD! My next set I'll probably go with the ContiExtremeContact's for their price/treadwear/perf value, or Yoko AVID W4S for their treadwear and quiet ride.

The Gs ride pretty hard stock - so I was somewhat nervous when going up to 20s. Somehow the ride seems comparable or maybe even a bit smoother. There is a difference however when I hit a big pothole. The stock tire on my car is the 18 inch 45 series.

My 20" tire size is 245/35 in the front and 275/30 in the rear.

Yeah, the G's have more clearance space for big tires, especially in the rear. I'm pretty sure 275/30/20's will not fit on an Altima without some modifications. You would probably need spacers and a fender roll.

Sorry to hear your buddies tire tread life was so bad w/ the Pole Positions. We have 3K miles on ours and they still look brand new. 99% of the reviews on tirerack were positive from everything from tread life to traction to the noise factor. In fact the tires we bought were the highest rated all weather high performance tires on the review. There was enough of a review sample to justify the rankings IMO. I like to read consumer reviews before most of my big ticket purchases.

Yeah, I was looking through all the reviews prior to my new tires. Like I said, I really wanted those tires; they're the OEM SE-R wheels. I just got a bit scared after seeing my friends tires so I stayed away from them. Keep me updated on the tires and maybe my next set I'll have to scoop those up. Keep me updated on how they are at 10K, 15K and 20K.

These are my tires. I love the wet/dry traction, but I hate the noise These boys stick like glue.

I only mentioned the rear because of the aspect ratio of 30 and that on the G with this setup - Kumho Ecsta tires - my ride is pretty comparable to stock.

I loved my Kuhmo's because they lasted forever and a half. Pretty decent performance, but I wanted ultra-high performance tires, that's why I went with the Feds. I'm either going with the Conti's, Yoko's, or I may even go back to Kuhmo. We'll see when I wear these tires down. I'm doing a pretty good job so far
