getting back to your original question... for the wheels on a Q I am a big fan of anything VIP style... that being said I do not think a black wheel looks right on a white car... but that is my personal opinion... and... while being a VIP style wheel for sure... I am not a huge fan of chrome... it looks to "90's" on an older Q... the staggered look with a nice silver or polished finish looks the best IMO

Cheers,Sean

Gentlemen..

There is no reason to be so harsh about it. I understand and everyone is right, that maintenance comes first... However, straight up calling people an idiot is not going to be tolerated.

The OP has been more than patient and wants to learn, so we cannot act this way. He gets the point and is now on board with getting the guides done!

To the OP: I would highly recommend a little better punctuation and possibly use the enter key for paragraphs.

Thanks!

I'm quite sure you can call your local Infiniti dealer and price it or you can call Justin (some say Joe but Justin always help me) at http://www.everythinginfiniti.com 1-888-216-5328 and price them. Also Haitian King purchased some awhile back so he would know more than I. Good luck. Oh, those rims are ugly. I love chrome wheels but they look like hubcaps.
Yessir!

I paid about $420 for my chain guide replacement kit. A little more if you have the chain itself included. I didn't need one. Hopefully you don't need one either. I hear that unless something crazy happens, they should last for about 300k. Now the oil pump chain needs to be changed during the chain guide replacement as it has probably stretched considerably.

Question to the experts: I know it's recommended on the 90-93 to change the oil pump chain because of stretch. If you're in a 94-96 with the metal guides and have no reason to open up the front cover, does the oil pump chain go unchanged? Or is it a better one than the earlier models, similar to the old guides vs/ new?

Its one of those things that you "might as well". IM not sure that the oil pump chain actually stretches enough to cause any problems over the course of 300k miles or so...

Oh. Ok. From what I saw in some thread, there was a visible difference between a new pump chain and the old one.

So it wouldn't be a problem if it's never changed in a 94?

Just a quick word. Not to long ago (a week maybe?)I ran across a timing chain kit on Ebay for about $250. Don't quote me on the price. Just a hint to keep your eyes open for 'em.

Question: I'm trying to find a service list for my Q45. Anyone have any suggestions? The only "local" Infinity dealer I can find is about a 90minute drive and they said I have to bring the car in or they wont give me a service list. My local Nissan dealer basically told me to cram it.....

You can call Infiniti Consumer Affairs at 1-800-662-6200 and register as the new owner. They won't mail you a print copy, but they'll look up your VIN and read the service history to you over the phone.

Yes. Then call the first dealership or the last one on the list and request a service history. They faxed it over for me. I keep a copy in my glovebox along with registration, insurance, and service receipts.

if i'm not mistaken that wheel is a Zenetti Heir correct? i had those on my Q about a yr ago. its an allright looking wheel if you like big face wheels. problem i had with them was #1, they are really heavy. #2, the structural integrity of the wheel wasn't very good. one of them cracked & i had to have it welded. could have just been a good ol pothole though...

neither look good. if your going on the vipstyle route for your Q please choose some better looking wheels. the wheel designs that you have chosen look like they came out of a dub magazine. the q45 has class, dont ruin it with some generic looking wheels.
