So I'm kind of a lurker on here and am putting together my car right now. I'm kind of stumped and worried about putting back in the factory rear end of the car naturally. So basically I'm looking for what people have experience in higher horsepower cars.
Are you keeping the S13 pumpkin? Or swapping it to something else?
If so what diff out there is holding up well under a good amount of power?
I'm looking for an outcome between 600-700 RWHP. And as you can tell with the amount of money to get that power, I'm not really looking to take one out of a Q45 or anything...as long as it works with what I need it to the money isn't a big factor. I just like doing stuff right.
Thanks for any input.

The R200 is strong, its the axles that fail.

I would say a cabonetics diff, S13/S14 R200 case, and driveshaft shop shaft 600 or 1000hp axles.

Hell I make 500hp Na on a welded R200

Haha...the picture lets me know it should be good enough...thats pretty nasty man. Good looking car. I wish I could get mine to do that at some point. I was more worried about the diff...can't really find many power ratings on them as of to what they're reliable to though...

There are guys using the factory rear end and factory vlsd running 9 second quarter miles. I've read that some replace the half-shafts with stronger units, but the rest should be good to go. If you want a bit more aggressive locking than factory then most of the available lsds should work well. Nismo, Kaaz, Cusco, Tomei, Carbonetic, Quaife, etc. All are said to be pretty solid pieces. I would research 1.5 way vs 2 way vs Torsen and see what fits your intended driving style best.

I'm running a peloqin Torsen in my R32 now and love it...I mean it's just a toy for me so if it sucks to DD it doesn't really matter...just lookin for something that won't break. What are the viscous ones good to? And u mean like the 300 some odd dollar ones people are saying they're getting off of eBay or what? Like where could ya locate a new VLSD?

There are no new viscous limited slip differentials that I am aware of. If you like your Torsen, I would stick with that personally. 300 bux off ebay? Sounds like an OBX LSD which is basically a chinese knok-off of a quaife. Some people have reported great success, other have turned them into shrapnel almost instantly.

Cabonetics is the best LSD you can get. I have heard claims up to 1300hp on it.

Yeah I'm pretty leary of anything off of eBay....especially something cheap. That carbonetics seems to be the way to go then. What type do you have or do they like only do a 2 way? And how noisy is it? Ive heard a lot sound like they're going to blow the housing apart... Not sure if that's just something that's inherient in these cars or not

Q45 is really the best bang for the buck with the thicker axles...supposedly the setup is rated to 800hp ...I've got the setup in my trackslut kouki...and I know alot of the d1/fd guys run the same setup...just saying. BTW I have an extra setup if you're interested.
