i have started researching about the rb swaps. I see the 2.5 is a easy swap and prices have dropped considerably from the orignal pricing of the swap. The 2.6 seems to be possible but the availability of the motor setup ? or is the 3.0 setup from down under the answer ? of course i am not loaded, but i am debt free. i do like different but is the 3.0 obtainable without selling body parts ? lol i am not afraid of a challenge, can i get a complete 3.0 setup ? i want to use my cash the right way without regret or waste. or should i just move to down under where the cars are awsome and available, but top five most deadliest snakes ?

start pricing everything you're going to need and do whichever motor is in your budget without using credit. never mod on credit!

i paid off all my debt so thats not happening. I really was interested in the 2.6 but found out about the 3.0 from down under. Does anyone have any connections ? i am curious how much a 3.0dett would cost ? complete motor, trans, ecm, and harness. If not i could one piece at a time. I read last night about 3.0 block and 2.5 head. i would prefer to keep the matching head and block together. SO if i can acquire a 3.0 dett then thats the why to go. if not then i will go 2.6. but i feel it would be in my best interest in stay in a complete set up.
I have priced out the conversion stuff which not bad. the clips are priced well but need a reliable trustworthy source. i have not found a price on the 3.0dett from austraila. if it is too crazy for the 3.0 i will stick to the original plan of a 2.6. thanks for the help.

sorry did not notice you had to build the 3.0. must of been half alseep from reading so much. so if i can get a block what about the crank ?and or rods ? seems the bore is the same but the stroke is more. from 2.6 to 3.0 i think or it is backwards.
so i stand corrected. well i guess i need to price out a block, rotating assembly, head and head work. seems that will be way more then a 2.6dett setup. i could be wrong. i guess i will start build some cash and keep researching.

Purchase the complete 30, or at least the longblock. You would want either a 25 Neo (R34) head, or a 26(R32-34) head - depending on your goals and how deep your pockets are.

So....I shouldn't be using 3 credit cards to finish my motor rebuild/swap lol I figure, save for a year or drive my car and pay off cards for a year. Needless to say the love for the S14 won.

haha....believe me...i know the feeling...but the interest your paying has to be factored in as well. not to mention for some people with no self control. it can get you into a lot of trouble with finances. just not worth it for me or anything i would ever "suggest"

do alot more research on all your options and go from there, and figure out what your power goals and intended use for the car cause all the rb motors are different in there own little way.

rawbrokerage.com has some rb30 parts if you decide to go that route

talk to Ricky, he loves helping out people :) (and he knows his stuff ;))

but as HxC_Nismo said, research and decide on an engine that will fit your goals. all RB engine are great, just up to you what you want to do with them
