What year(s) Q45 had the 15x7 BBS mesh wheels with the nice 1" lip? I would love to replace my I30t 15x6.5 BBS wheels with those. The off set is much better and the lip is absent on the I30 version.

Oh, and if anyone has some for sale let me know.

Mike

1994 - 1996 Q45t.

There's not really a 1" lip though.

The 7" are a dealer installed option. Not even sure they are BBS. OEM is 6.5". Very light and very strong.

Maybe not a 1" lip, but it has one.

I know they are BBS, my I30t ones are and the J30 had BBS ones as well. The I30 version is 13lbs.

I have a set I bought to use for snow tires and never did. I "may" be interested in selling them.

Mine are at least a 1" lip- maybe more.

They are definately BBS. Centercaps AND stampings on back and inside (under centercap) indicate BBS manufacture.

They are a 15x7, according to their markings.

The J30t version is much "flatter" than our OEM I30t rims. I will try to take a good pic of the one that parks at my work, just for reference.

A little info onthe "gold" spokes:

About 2 weeks ago, I went to my grandparents' house (where I am storing them for now) and I washed them up.

In some light they look grey; in direct light they look bronze- not gold. They even look silver in the daytime when NOT in direct sunlight. It is the coolest effect. I am definately leaving mine as-is for now. Now I just need to get the tires...

I guess it was just the light in the pics that made them look gold. And my brother had a new camera and was fooling with the filters when he took the pics, which could have made mine look more gold than what they really are.

No gold spokes on these, but I only looked into 1 box when I received them. I think there are only 3 center caps, IIRC.

I'll look this weekend.

Looked and had pics, no lip. And no gold.

Are yours 7" wide? Check the stamps- those look like my stock I30t rims, which are 6.5" and have 40 or 45 mm offset, not the 36 mm 7" Q rims that I bought off of eBay...

Maybe I have some bastardized Q45a rims. Here are some pics from "joe dirt" and his 1991 Q45a auction on eBay. His "a" rims look similar to mine, but it looks like I have more of a lip.

The more I look at it, the more I cannot tell if it is shadowing or what, but it looks like the lip in those pics is more like the I30t lip, except that the pookes are attached more rearward than are the one on the I30 rims. It could be my eyes, though.

It looks almost as if the rims on the Q45a in the pics have a stair-step effect, while mine are all lip-to-spokes.

Anyway, Pic # 3:

Do they say BBS on the back? The OEM BBS model do have teh stair stepped rim lip. Doesn't mean yours are not genuine BBS, though.

Rex's rims are something different, though. BBS, but I bet not for the Q45. Wonder what the offset is?

Mine say it (BBS) either under the centercap or on the back. Mine are forged.

It would be on the back if BBS.

What I am looking for are the ones like Phenryiv1. 15x7 with a 36mm offset. It has to have the lip and be BBS, because if it doesn't then there is no point switching.

My I30t BBS mesh wheels say BBS under the center cap and on the inside of the rim. Cent er caps are totally different.

I am willing to pay good money for some 15x7 36mm offset with the lip, Q45 rims.

The pics posted by Rex look similar to the I30 ones, but they are definately not the I30 ones.

I may have been wrong initially regarding the source vehicle for my rims- they may have been from a Q45a and not a Q45t.

I believe that my BBS are logoed under the cap and on the inside (back).

I saw an early Q45 (regular) out this weekend that had rims similar to my I30 rims. The spokes attached to the lip itself, similar to the pic Rex posted. They had infinity centercaps, though.

Weird.

One other factoid: the 1993 Q45a has 15" BBS rims (I assume they are by BBS because they look like the ones here). With Infiniti center caps, not BBS. My boss has one of these 1993 Q45a cars ... Ivory Pearl Quartz, no less.

The wheels pictured in some of the posts look exactly like the wheels I had on my 1991 Q45, except that my wheels had an ACT logo in the hub cover where the wheels in the posts have the BBS. The hub covers look exactly like those shown, including even the black background behind the ACT. They had the 1-inch lip. I don't know if my wheels were made by BBS, I think they were made by Ronal. They were on the car when I bought it when it was 2 years old and they might have been a dealer install for the original owner.

ACT are the ones I ended up getting. Found them on ebay. 15x7.5 and a 1.5" lip.
