Funny, I find all my Q45 a little floaty for me when I have anything or anybody else in the car. I really want 15%-20% higher spring rate and the 2000 needs 20% higher spring rate.

Exactly why I'm determined to get all the performance out of the G50 as possible. I think it can be brought to new car performance standards.

It's biggest problem is lack of 5/6 speed automatic transmission. Nobody has ever complained of the VH on the high end. In fact it's High RPM feel/pull is superior to the VQ and VK IMO.. The low end has always been the problem. This is where most people need the power the most.. Coming out of a corner in 2nd gear can feel like the car is dead.. You have to drive this car like an S2000 to make it feel fast...

I can also say that from 50mph the VH is much faster than the VQ.....

I think maybe Ryan didnt drive a real good example, we'll get him in my Q and thatll change

It crawls from 3,000 to 4,000 rpm in 2nd gear.. Keep it above 4,000 where the VVT kicks in, and you're good.

The 2004 XJ8 I drove never felt like it had any accelration dead spots. It had a 6 speed automatic, and roughly the same amount of power. Low end power is nice to have. It's nice stormnig off the line without hardly any effort. With the Q you have to get above 4,000 to get kickin..

That's never been done before, and has a whole list of problems.. Where to get the custom gears, custom TCU software will be neccasary..

Best thing you can do is a have a fully transmission rebuild with a rebuilt t/c and 4.08 gears. That should drop your 0-60 in the mid to low 6s.. well if you have a 94 you need to defeat the granny gears to obtain those times...

I met a guy at the NICO meet in Lexington that said he would try and fab a manual transmission bellhousing from the Z, if we could get him a cheap and running VH45...

Who's going to program the custom TCU software?

Custom TCU software will cost $1,000 + the cost of programming it. Cheaper to get a full level ten rebuild with a modified TC and 4.08 gears.

With a manual, we wouldnt need a TCU.. We might have to leave the stock one and have something in there to "trick" into thinking its doing something so it doesnt throw codes.....
