Which performs better, old or new M-45?

I have been curious about this due to to the engine being the same but a little more powerful on the older M45 than the new one.

I have been thinking about trading up from my current 03 to an 06 or 07 with all the options.

Do the performance numbers suggest that the older, slimmer looking M45 is faster or that the newer, beefier looking one is?

Newer specs show that the new M45 is a hair faster. At least the 2006 was.

I wouldnt give up the classic styling of the y34 for a newer one that is only a hair faster. I also do not like to own the same car more than once...
