im about to get some pads, and am wondering which of the 2 to choose.

they got the duralast gold CMAX brake pads, or Akebono Ultra Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad.

no idea how to see which was better and input would be much appreciated on which of the 2 to pick

I put Akebono Pro-act on my 04 Coupe fronts and they have been great! No noise, little to no dust, and stops great. (The dealership where I had purchased the car used, had just put new Nissan pads on and they started squealing like a pig after a few miles.)
I put CMAX on the rear of my 05 Sedan and they did great too, but traded before replacing the fronts.
I would pick the Akebono.
(note that I do not track my cars, if I did would probably go with Hawks.)

I've heard good things about Hawk pads. A friend of mine just put them on his 'vette and love 'em.

Have Hawks on every car I own (well just the front of the G right now, but have to install the rears this weekend).
