What Rotors and Pads should i go with?

After searching...... i found that Hawk Pads and Brembo Rotors seem to be popular. I am Wondering if anyone has tried the E-bay Brand of Rotors, A Plus From https://www.tutuauto.com/ And their Pads PBR? Are these any good?

Thanks

Do rotors even matter? I have brembo blanks, next time I think Ill just get whatever. Its just a slab of metal for the pad to grab....

I have hawk HPS pads, and they are a great choice for a street/autox car.Ive never had them on a track to test repeated brakeing, but Ive never gotten them to fade on twisty mountain roads and autox doesn't get the pads too hot.

Axxis ultimates on eBay special rotors. Very dusty and squeaky, but cheap and get the job done.

I have good experience with Brembo CD/slotted rotors with VGX pads in my previous car. The front pair of rotors are usually under $90 (shipped) and the pads are around $22. VGX pads are found @ summitracing.com

Ughhh.

Don't listen to what anybody tells you about Brembo or slotted and drilled or any of that. It's a load of bull****.

As redcoupe said, it doesn't matter. I run AUTOZONE rotors, and have been doing so for over a year. I have run axxis ultimate pads and axxis metal master.

I can tell you that autozone(or other cheap parts stores) rotors are probably the cheapest **** out there, but they work. No point in getting brembo.

There is this road near here that is about 6 miles of nonstop crazy hills, sharp turns, sweepers, etc. When I drive through it, I get insane brake fade to the point that I can barely stop by the end of the road, and my rotors are bright red and glowing. Last time my brakes were producing so much smoke that I thought my engine was on fire. I've done this 4 times in the last month.

Guess what? My rotors are still fine. No cracks, warping or anything. Cheap rotors can take it. Autozone also has a lifetime warranty on their rotors against warping, so even if you somehow by an act of god manage to warp them, you can get new ones for free.

If this isn't enough to turn you off of wasting your money on stupid expensive rotors, then please go ahead and waste your money. Rotors won't help the way your car brakes unless they are larger, and you can't run larger rotors without a brake conversion.

Me? I'm gonna save up for a 4 wheel Z32 brake conversion with Z33 rotors up front.

Hey,

Thanks for your input, it seems now that rotors are rotors, but Pads are what make the difference. so i'm gunna continue looking around before i make a decision.

well yeah, rotors are a chunk of metal to be grabbed on....

Pads are really where the biggest compromise is being made...The manufacture has to choose between cost of materials used in them, plan temperature range for operation, how much noise is acceptable (pad dragging on rotor will make noise but in the design of the pads they can shift the temperatures and what not that it will make the most noise at), how much dust, ect...

all of which have to be balanced...So your average street pad has its efficiency lessened to quite it down, remove dust, and make it more effective at lower temps...

Not really as many compromises going into the rotors, especially if your buying blanks....
