I am planning to buy or lease new Rogue. Local dealer has both in stock. I am still not sure which one to pick. After reading several reviews I found that 2013 handle well in snow and build in Japan, while 2014 assemble in USA and has 3rd row of seating. Anyone has 2014 Rogue experience in snow? Please help.

This debate is going to depend on a lot of factors, most of them personal preference and will be highly dependant on how much cash you will save on a 2013 vs. 2014, how long do you plan to keep the car, how many miles will you drive per year/fuel costs etc.. Also the 2014 will have very little information available on long-term reliablity. Powertrain wise, the engine is the same but the CVT transmission is different, however it has been used in the Altima for a full year now for reference and there are some potential red flags there. Let us know what your most important criteria and questions are and we may be able to help, performance in snow is a good start for reference if that's important to you.

Thanks for quick replay. I’ m planning to keep rogue for 4 years (if lease) otherwise 10 years. Local dealer said I can get good deal on 2013. I am reading very good reviews in all aspect for model 2013. The only big plus with 2014 for me is three row of seating. Occasionally we need to use 3rd row. I tried pathfinder but 2nd row seat is very low( uncomfortable) and i don't want 6 cylinder. My mileage is 8,000 yearly. I never leased a car before and this time I am thinking about it. Any input appreciated.

Welcome Pak -
As mentioned it's a personal preference. I have owned a 2010 Rogue, a 2013 Pathfinder Platinum and now my 2014 Rogue SL. I will say that both were an upgrade from the 2010 Rogue and the Pathfinder had to be the most comfortable of the three and gas mileage was not that bad. If you are looking for third row seating, the Pathfinder is by far the best choice. I understand that the new Rogue with third-row seating does not come with a spare tire and is going to be pretty cramped. You get run flat tires all around. Of course, a spare is not used nearly as much now as it was in my younger days - Better tires and better roads.
The dealer that I bought my new Rogue from has lots of 2013s left so I would imagine that the deals in December (end of year) will be really good. Apparently Nissan is marketing some remaining 2013s as a special edition 2014 for those that are wanting to save some real bucks. The 2014 is quite an upgrade to the 2013 in my opinion - better mileage, new styling, new features, etc. Buy either and you will enjoy it.
