Yeah, there are definent differences between the OBX header and it's knock-off. I think you shouldn't even bother with a header on a KA, but if you're bound and determined to do it, the original OBX should be your choice, OP.
The DC sports is great, but too expensive for something you're just going to trash later anyways...

And we all helped him, almost every1's post suggested that what he posted was crap and to get something better. That is every1 except your post.

but lets be honest... the cost benefit of the exhaust is low... you're not getting much power out of it, for the money your spending.
the stocker is more worthwhile...
so sorry OP, I cant see myself being helpful here.

simmode1 wrote:I have #2. It is a knockoff of the OBX header. DO NOT GET IT. The design looks good but you will have problems in 2 areas:
-Reinstalling you EGR. You'll end up having to plug it.-If you plug it, your plug will grind against your steering linkage causing your steering wheel to stick mid-turn until you force it free.
OP, these ppl are giving you good advice for you own good. A header is an utter waste of time. Combined with a test pipe and a 3 inch exhaust, the header will do nothing more than change your powerband. Gone will be your low end grunt in exchange for more top end response. Any power increase you feel will be imaginary.
How do I know this for sure? See sig. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't have spent a single dime on bolt-ons. I would have put it towards suspension, brakes, wheels & tires. The only bolt on you're likely to keep as you get more power will be the exhaust. Forget the rest of that stuff. It's trash.
dm-ka wrote:I had that #1 on my car and can tell you from experience that the 4-1 header piece is garbage I threw it away 2 days after I installed it because it started leaking. I did use the downpipe however but did not notice any difference in performance whatsoever. Also depending on the brand of your exhaust the noise level inside the cabin probably will be very very annoying at cruising speeds. I had 5Zigen Cannonball catback and it was really loud, but then I switched to Nismo catback and it became a lot better (both were 3"). From what I heard HKS Hipower and Apexi N1 are relatively quite on KA so would suggest those to you if were to install a header and resonated pipe in place of your cat.
As for #3, my guess is that it will be the loudest one of the three and you might encounter a fitment problem with it.
Performance wise all 3 are in the same neighborhood and will not give you noticeable power just the noise. Save your money and buy name brand because they were designed to increase power except Greddy.hot shot is probably what I would go with and you can find used one on ebay for around that much. My second choice would be DC Sprts.
This is the dino I found that Orion from freshalloy had on his website. Apexi N1 and Apexi cone filter were installed before the header.
