Got busted doin' 250km/h on the 400? I hit 205 on the same highway when I was young, dumb and stupid (at least I was smart enough to do it b4 the 50 over law came into play) but that just takes the cake! I was watching the news this morning when I heard about it, looked at the car in question, and laughed to myself, wondering if the person was a member of any G35 forums online.

Check out the article if you're curious/bored.

LOL... i know! I was kinda surprised that it made the news... they actually ran a 3-4 min segment complete with some random OPP officer making comments such as "one wrong move, and we would have been scraping him up." Usually something like that is a paragraph on page 49 in the paper... the media outlets must have been captivated by the sight of the G.

That guy was definitley a massive idiot.

It probably made the news for a few reasons

1 - The new street racing law is in effect, so they want to make sure everyone knows that "it's working" because this idiot is now off the streets for at least a week and facing HEAVY fines. Hell they just busted an OPP officer in her cruiser and slapped her with a street racing ticket!! She was doing 65km's over the speed limit.

2- They just sentenced another idiot who was street racing on the same highway not too long ago that resulted in the death of a driver of an 18 wheeler.

That highway is a major problem for serious speeders causing deaths. So much so that they use helicopters and small cesna (sp?) planes to patrol from above daily.

Read about this yesterday and was coming here to post it to see if anyone here knew who it was.

Rather stupid I must say, especially given the time of the year. Snow tires or not, at that speed even a small patch of ice, or even a chunk of ice from a transport could have sent him into flying.

Still though, seeing a G on tv gave me a smile, especially when the officer referred to it as a "high performance machine" and stated that the driver "was most likely out enjoying his ride..."

Atleast we can feel a shameful pride knowing that the G holds a new record for speed.

I have to add that I hate women reporters talking about anything car related as they usually have no clue. "Nissan G35 coupe"?! Uhh, can you read the back of the car where it says "Infiniti"? "250 kmh is the speed a jumbo jet takes off at"...Apples to oranges, why not just report on how Marty McFly went back to the future at 88 mph and therefore this person almost sent us all back to the 1950's had he had a flux compacitor!

That guys lucky he only has to pay $10K. It could've been much worse.

Funny how they talk about the G as a "high performance vehicle" makes me want to

I want a car like he was driving! The article quotes "Infinity G35"

I wouldn't do that on a dry Florida day!

He definitely had the wrong autobahn.

Sorry but that interview was something I feel like I would see from an elementary school news report. It just seemed off...minus the whole 'scraping him off the road part.'

I want to know what was going through his head once he saw the pull out.
