Now we know there are more than two mounting kits. Great maybe all the prices will come down maybe they wont. But unless you have seen all thes kits in person or know how they are made lets not bash. I have seen one kit in person (mine) and have seen pics of others. But that gives me no right to talk trash about other kits so I dont and no one else should either. Oh and about customer service I have found no better service than at McKinney's. So just because you (S13Sil-line) called and felt they did not want to help you they have bad customer service. HAHAHAHA Dude do you know everthing they do at there shop is done by 2 people and thats with phone ringing off the hook from allot of kids with a dreams calling. Yes I said it. You may not be one of those but half of the calls thay get are. You ask any one of there customers what kind of service they get from Mckinneys and you will get the same answer. GREAT!!!! They never know if the person they talk to is just a dreamer or a real potential customer. Oh and about how the kits are made in other countries well for your all of you guys out there I have met the guy who makes the Mckinney kit and he is right here in Socal. So with all that said when we going to see some pics of this cheap kit not to big on the skyline cross member but would like to see how it all lines up.

Chose what ever works for you.. Our kits are made here in the USA and are done by certified welders and with Quality materals.

I have just put rb25 in my 180sx and it does NOT need custom mounts and sway bar spacers. About 3cm*3cm of the bonnet ribbing needed to be cut. This took max about 20 minutes. By doing this you will save a lot of $$$.

Ya, but its GHETTO. Thats cool though, how do you like it. Im leaving right now to finish pulling the motor from the clip. I still recommend getting a kit. The cars stabillity is weak enough, and to cut up the underside will only make it weaker. But, its cool man. Whatever floats your boat. Congrats on the swap, your one of the lucky ones. Is your a five speed or auto?

Oh, nothing yet. I just pulled the rb from the clip today. I was going to use the 240 cluster and heard that the tach wont work.

I think the tach adapter such as those from Dakota Digital should fix the tach issue, it converts from 4 to 6 cyl or even 8 cyl if necessary.

I know for sure it does on a RB20 transmission, I bolted it up myself to check. I am assuming the RB25 transmission has a similar if not identical housing. Can someone else verify the RB25?

rb20 is mechanical and 25 is electrical so it may not fit in 25

Back to the mount thing. Has anyone been able to get ahold of STM? I called them all last week and finally left a message but never got a call back, and just called today again and left another message. Hopefully i'll hear back from them, but it appears that they keep pushing back the mount release date. Let me know if anyone has been able to get ahold of them. thanks.

i second that custom mounts are unnecessary and i wouldnt consider it ghetto other than cutting the hood bracing to clear IC piping unless ur getting custom intake manifold. I have stock mounts and they work fine. I just had to make some spacers for my front sway bar and thats it.
