Eh, you're asking questions that people have been debating for a long, long time. Just do a search and you'll find tons of stuff. Of course, the best answer is, It depends. What are you using it for, how much money you got, etc, etc. On a different note though. My buddy has an Integra and wants to put the new tsx engine in it or something. I was like, "Naw man. Swap an fwd sr20det in there." Just joking though, right. Then he's all, "they already did it and got mounts for it too." Haha, I just thought it was funny. There is always a little debate amongst honda and nissan fans. I haven't seen any 240's with s2000 motors in em? Have you? Kidding. PEACE. Tek.

Sr20 is the closest to plug and play that you'll get. the RB would be a challenge to say the least. seriously this topic comes up once a week if not more.use the search and spend a few days catching up.

Keep the KA, turbo it when your ready for more power, peace and be happy.

BTW: You might want to search for the pros and cons of different swaps. Each has it''s ups and downs.

Whats with all these Honda nerds ditching their Civics for 240's and Hachi Rokus...

Look for a large influx of SR powered 240's to hit the classified market in the next year or so as the drifting bandwagon slows down.

I dont mean to be negative, I just see/hear about this soooo much now days.

I can tell you both are very new to the Nissans so let me start off by telling you that the stock engine is the KA. It it is very reliable, torquey, and it doesnt suck unless you dont know what to do with it. Turboing could be cheaper than a swap but there's a lot to know about it that you 2 dont know. Just search like I like I did last June when I joined and you'll be alright. First you should get to know your car before you buy all this stuff.

Try searching these topics:

Motor swapsPros ans cons of motor swapsSR20DET(Silvias)RB20,25, or 26(Skylines)CA18DET KA24ET or KA24DET(Turboed stock 240 motors)

Hope that helped.

AX75F92,

One, let's try to stay on topic here... and two, even he was referring to you, it certainly wasn't out of malice. It sounds like your post was pretty bitter, and perhaps you didn't mean that?

At any rate, jdmfreak03 had some good info to provide. mugen2nismo, if you're going for JDM authenticity, SR is really your only option. But if that's your goal, are you goig to go so far as to perform a RHD conversion? It's a bit over the top, IMHO.

I am assuming that you're coming from driving a Honda (i.e. FWD, high-revving, low torque) so I would recommend NOT doing anything to the engine, swap or otherwise, until you got used to the drivetrain. FR and FF are TOTALLY different. I'm also assuming you want to get a FR to drift and such. :) He he he. Learn to drive it first and THEN start worrying about power upgrades.
