By "turning" I'm assuming you mean something like autocross. For something like that you don't need all out power, you'd want something with a small turbo that spools very quickly. Also, you'd probably want to do a good amount of suspension work. The SR20 would probably be your best option. It will get you much closer to that 50/50 weight distrabution. I'm not saying you couldn't auto cross in an RB25, I'm probably going to try at some point. There are probably more knowledgeable people here that could give you better reasons for going with a particular setup.

I would say the SR simply for weight...The RB is over 100lbs heavier the then KA and SR i believe, and the VG is a huge pig!!! So i'd say go with the SR, better weight distribution. The closer you can get to 50/50 the better!

Just to throw this out there... If you DO plan on doing autocross or track racing, you may want to stick with an N/A build... well, that is if you want to be competitive at all in a class...

In the SCCA if you were to swap your engine, you would be running with highly modified Supras, RX-7s, Corvettes, etc.

I only say this because as far as I can find, racing with the SCCA is the best way to get seat time.

This is true. I believe that as soon as you swap, you go to DSP which is a very competetive class (or course all of them really are pretty competetive). Of course it IS possible to be competetive in this class, but I usually see the SR's get stomped on just because of their competition. Now a fully built SR or RB with good suspension work and a GOOD DRIVER, can run with the Supra's, 7's, and Vettes, it just takes time, practice, and money. I plan to swap the RB25 and start out with JIC FLT-A2's and go up from there. I won't be competetive, but that isn't what matters to me right now, I just like to go out, have fun, and try to improve:pface

You sure about that? I've heard there more like 70lbs more, I've also heard 90, now your saying over 100. We need to get a definative weight listed.

Ok. I know the motor weighs more than the SR or KA, but I think it's only around 60-70 more, though I'm not sure of the exact weight.

Do your homework on all the engines you might want. including engine cost, installation cost, up grades cost, RESALE value, how it fit you intended pourpose for the car and then make your choice; then your will be happy with the out come...

If the car is a nissan and the engine is a nissan and as long as its 3.0L or under (if its turbocharged) then the engine swap would only put him in SM. Which isn't good either but its better than a prepared class.
