sorry bout that. this is my question, on the RB alternator it has a plug and a terminal where you put a nut, but on the KA alternator it only has a plug. im using the KA lower harness and it doesnt have nothing that goes to that terminal with a nut. heres what im talking about.

RB alternator

KA alternator

so do i simply get that part from the RB lower harness and use it? or is it fine without it?

Are you sure that on the Ka alternator it doesn't had a ternimal? is your an s13 or s14? i just did a swap on the s14 rb20det and i am using the Ka lower harness also and all the wiring on the KA harness (alternator) is exactly the same as the RB alternator unless i am wrong...or maybe you may need to double check it over again just to make sure.

Yes, the stud that is sticking out on the back of the KA is the ternimal. check your KA lower harness to see if there a wire with a round ternimal hole (it should be next to your KA lower harness alternator-plug). it's like a ground-wire.

The only thing not 100% straight forward using the KA lower is the little plug on the starter, but thats it. Alternator is a plug and play deal.

If you had already your alternator....starter and all the plugs hook-up correctly then yes....that's a ground-wire and it should bolt to your engine-bay next to your engine-fuse-box. if you can't its orginal-hole then just drill a new one....or just bolt onto anything for ground.
