which ka'sare turboable?

i was planning on getting a KA24E(mine blew after i bought the car), but i heard that not all the engines can be safeley turboed? I thought the KA was safe to turbo, but is there a certai on e to get to turbo? is the KA24DE better to turbo?

uh oh...now hes done it..

well ur not gonna get happy response with this..thats if u get any response...but u can turbo both ka24de and the ka24e....search the forum...its both been done

any engine can be turboed

i think what you are refering to is one year for the kae has a higher compression ratio then the other. this takes away a very slight margin of safety against blwing the engine compared the other. nothin to worry about

Yeah...

KA24E has 2 CR: 9.1:1 (Early '89), or 8.8:1 (Late '89 to '90)...

Either one is fine to turbocharge, and both have a lower static CR than the DOHC (9.5:1).

All have proven to be VERY reliable under boost, up to ~350rwhp or so in most cases, assuming proper tuning.

thats what i thought, but i was broswing through the forums and saw oen thread that made it seem like you cant turbo them all. just double checking, thanx
