i was wondering which would be faster...the FC or the 240...they are both stock and N/A ive heard they come pretty close horsepower wise.....the reason i was wondering is becuase i want to buy a 240....and i was just interested to see which one is faster...the rx7 would be a 91..same as the 240.

240sx is faster,I have a 92,And when i had the ka24de motor I used to beat those all the time. They make a good race anyway.

a fc is about 200lbs heavier than a s13. the 13b motor actually sucks in stock form, but when built, then you have yourself a mean machine. i love both my fc and s13 but in stock form and both being n/a, the 240 will win but is going to have a hell of a time trying to win.

1991 N/A FC3S:-Standard port-Removed secondary intake port actuatores from lower intake mani-Removed varible volume intake butterflied-ported/modified throttle body (+5mm)-Pod Filter-Racing Beat "race" header, TII silencer, Apex N1 single-CAP stage 3 clutch

Romped many the LT1 on the highway. CA at 10psi and a few goodies can't do the same. Damn 4.10:1 I do miss my FC a lot

all i know is my 95 240 was faster than my friends FC and this was before i got my tuneup which it needed desperately. And when i drove the FC i was wondering when the power was going to come on....it was weak. The thing that makes the difference is the torque difference. The ka has a solid 40-50 lbs more torque than the FC (unsure of the rating on the FC)so i like my 240 more in that way but put them on a road course or auto-x and the FC will probably shine

In a drag race, stock for stock, I have no clue. But as soon as you start removing the stupid emissions crap (Air pump, EGR, etc) and increase flow in and out of the motor (duh...but stock everything is HORRIBLY restrictive. Like worse than any other car I have ever worked on) and the 13B really becomes a monster.

I don't know what a bone stock S5 NA FC can do, but I know a friend of mine has an NA 'vert and it's a monster, routinely runs down my roommate's stock Turbo II.

FC's are amazing cars, and the NA's are actually fairly reliable, at least compared to their problematic turbocharged bretheren.

EDIT: I want this:

I spanked the hell out of a n/a FC when i first got my car, and i only had an intake at the time. I was later told that that particular car had 180k+ and probably wasn't running all that great. They are higher revving that's for sure.

maybe an FC in a drag, but if you want any torque whatsoever a 240 is the way to go.

Uhhh the Stock N/A 5spd FC weighs the same as the lightest 240... FC = 2600ish and lightest 240 model is 2600ish. The turbo 2 FC weighs in at 3000 same as the heaviest 240.

A race? I say they are even...its up to the driver

Stock Turbo II will waste a stock NA though, right?

The friend with the vert's car is decidedly not stock. Side port, various intake/exhaust bits, blah blah blah. Some special gas additive he carries around in a mountain dew bottle....thing flies.
