Which car is better if they both had the same engine and tranny? I am stuf the q45 will be a total ringer, but the j30 seems to be more aerodynamic and leaner. I just dont like the cheap strut suspension.

BTW guys a complete rolled nissan titan is 4k-5k so in theory this 5.6l swap is economical. This swap idea is sounding better the more i uncover.

The J30 is a few hundred pounds lighter, so if you're just looking at power to weight, go with the J.

So this is for purposes of a 5.6L swap?

I mean, yeah, I suppose that the J30 would be the faster platform to swap it into, but then again, an S13 or M30 would be even faster.

However, all that considered, I'd still much rather have it in the G50. A 5.6L G50 would be an exercise in what might have been, rather than just one more freakishly overpowered car.

Does the Titan engine make any real top-end power, or is it all low-end?

IMHO, for 5.6 swap, go with the Q. I doubt the J has enough hood clearance, and it would look like crap, with a big cowl induction scoop, or a turbo bubble to clear the throttlebody.

Agreed! I'd much rather have a 5.6 liter G50 than a 5.6 J30.Seems more fitting, at any rate.

All nice and low.

^ Thats some serious torque right there. As a motor designed for a truck and SUV, I'm sure things like cams and ECU tuning were designed for low end. A new set of cams and standalone should help shift the power band higher.

For an all out drag/drift/race car, I'd go with the J30 chassis. If you just want tons of power in a comfortable street car, I'd choose the Q.

Does the Y33 have more room under the hood?
