I am building a 650-750BHP SR20DET setup. What I need to know is where I would be able to find 1200+cc injectors that will fit an HKS fuelrail? Also does anyone know which piston/rod combo (thinking of CP/Eagle) would be the most reliable for a setup of this HP rating? Thanks!!!

I think I am. If not then I have many friends in the high HP domestics hobby that will help me out a bit. Thing is they do not know much about imports. Anyways, have any info on 1200cc JDM topfeed injectors (not Bosch/MSD type)? Thanks!!!

check on a site that sells RX7 performance parts or search ebay.

I hope you are only expecting big numbers, and not big performance from a 650+ BHP SR.

making big power and getting that power to the ground are very different things. plus, unless you do a lot of work, your turbo lag will suck.

As for fuel I still do not know. I was thinking an HKS fuelrail, 1200cc injectors, and a Haltech E8.

The lag on that turbo is going to be painful. I'm guessing maybe full boost by 5500-6000 RPM? If you're spending that kind of cash, stroke it out to help spool up. You'll probably want to run nitrous too. Hope you don't plan on driving this thing on the street, because it won't be fun.

At least it looks like you are going to build it right.

I will say for your powergoals the turbo is oversized. I would go to a GT3582R, and definately make sure you are getting the surge housing.

I would not coat the sleeves. Nikasil has been used in racing but it also has caused alot of premature engine failure in OEM cars. I would suggest coating the skirts rather than the cylinder.

I can tell you right now that you will have significant problems hooking up and the car will not be too much fun to drive on the street.

In fact, you more than likely will run the same times as a lesser powered car due to the lack of a powerband.

Basically the goal I am trying to reach is a low 10 second car. The car is a fully stripped S13. I will not be using any interior parts, everything is gone. All unused brackets have been shaved off, windows are gone, all electrical is gone. No dash, no A/C, no power steering. Only things will be a STACK dash display, racing seat, rollcage, harness, and the obvious stuff like shifter, steering, etc. I also will be using a 8 gallon fuel cell, all new lines (fuel and hydraulic). Everything that will not be used for racing is gone. So what do you all recommend?

450 bhp will yeild a 10 if you're fully stripped. build the motor like you're saying but use a smaller turbo.

Not a low 10...550whp range should be his goal but with all the work going into the valvetrain, I'd shoot for more.

Anyways, the turbo Nismofreak suggestion (also known as a GT35r or GT35/40r) should get you into the low 10's.

i will second the GT3582R if you insist on 600HP

other sugestions, you will need duel fuel pumps, go with an electric water pump, and you may want to think about the v mounted intercooler and radiator. oil pan and oil cooling will be mandatory for extended use. the 2.2L kit would also help with the spooling.

you also may want to consider staggering your cams, a thicker head gasket, and a 4.4 rear end

Will the Meziere electric water pump kit work for the RWD SR20DET? By the way, I still haven't found 1200cc top feed injectors for the HKS fuelrail. Should I go with the JWT fuelrail and MSD 998cc injectors? So then, what is the least horsepower I will need for low 10's? Thanks!!!

My buddy is hitting 9's and he has just under 600 hp. He was hitting 10's with under 500 hp. Of course he dropped 700 lbs from his S14, but none the less. BTW, his blacktop S13 motor is internally stock. Even the headgasket. All he did was re-torque the head bolts and he's had that setup for 2 years now. Just some food for thought.

RC makes 1000cc injectors too and jgycustoms has a fuel rail you can order with bigger or smaller injector bosses. You can also just make your own fuel rail and get whatever injectors you want. If you're running an E8 you can always consider secondary injectors.

Like I said, 550 give or take a little should get you low 10's.

i have seen up to 1600cc top feed injectors for an RX7 before. should fit any top feed fuel rail. infact, there are some on ebay right now.

some ford trucks use them as well.

check an RX7 forum for reliable sources to buy them from.

Bosch 1600cc's are easy to find but he wants 1200cc. RC can make 1200's...

After all the suggestions on here I'm really rethinking my 650-750bhp goal. I want to drive the car on the street, to the track and back. I will mostly be running the 1/8th mile and the 1/4 probably once every 2 months. I actually might auto-x it aswell just for laughs. So I do kind of want an engine with an OK powerband. I still want to be deep into the 10's though. I want to get the project planned out now before its to late. So far I have 2 SR20DET engines, stripped S13, and a bunch of ideas. As far as money goes, I'm young and saving right now is not my priority. So I will be dumping my paychecks into this car. $250-300 a week is my budget.

good idea. 550 sounds about where you want to be anyway.
