I have a 2003 G35 sedan which doesn't have HID lights. I am planning to upgrade them and have 2 options.

1)Used OEM kit from craigslist or ebay which I am getting around 250-300 bucks or maybe a little more. However I really don't know whether it really is OEM or not. Is there any way I can diffrenciate between OEM and after market kit maybe from the brand of the ballast or the bulb.

2) New after market kit for 140 bucks with warranty for 1 year for the ballast and the bulbs.

3) This is not a HID option but would it be suggested to just change the lower beams to some nice Xenon bulbs along with the Fog/Upper beams to match with each other. All suggestions for such bulbs will be appreciated.

I also am not aware whether my car wiring is equipped to just install a plug and play HID kit whether OEM or after market. Any inputs will be appreciated.

HN.

umm...i have a set of oem hid's. it takes a little bit of custom work to get 'em to fit in the non hid headlights... but my friend put a set of oem hid's in a non hid M35 and it looked good. took a little bit of custom work but they looked really good. if you wanna have ones that are direct fit you'd have to buy aftermarket...lmk if you are interested...oh and the bulbs or ballast have never been turned on...they are brand new

infinititech1,

What kind of custom work are we looking at here to put the OEM HID kit on non-hid lights. I can do few things but not really complex ones. Any idea how much will it cost me to get it installed outside if I have to and how much are you looking at for the OEM kit.

Also I just put 1 more post for Transmission dip stick question I have. I would really appreciate if you can reply it.

Thanks,

HN.

umm...really you have to figure out a way to mount the bulb and a place to mount the ballast. the best thing to do is probably buy an aftermarket kit from somewhere like hidplanet.com
