The Tomei head gasket is $224 shipped, the Greddy is $239 shipped from SPL. Does one have an advantage over the other, or has one proven itself more than the other? Thank you for your input.

Tomei super stopper is a superior design to the bead type Greddy. It has a ring around each cylinder that is crushed when installed as opposed to the bead type which is just a stack of wavy sheets. Tomei makes a bead type as well so be sure you know which type it is

I would go with the Tomei just cause I feel they produce better products.

im cheap and the tomei HG is over 1 case of beer cheaper than the greddy unit. it doesnt take rocket science to figure out the better deal.

Tomei. Thats probabally whats going on my car if I blow the stock headgasket. I've got a brand new OEM headgasket, so I'm going to try it and see if it holds. If not, no biggie, I pull the head and throw another one on there...

Then it`s likely the bead type. the super grommet tag looks like thisスーパーグロメットI see that CA gaskets have dropped in price though so maybe it is

I've been shopping recently, and the SuperGrommet from Tomei is more expensive than the Beaded from Greddy everyplace I've seen. Do as TMS said and make sure it's the SuperGrommet style and not the Beaded style from Tomei.

I paid Y33000 for mine, I guess they lowered the price to move them. Guess I better stock up while they are still available. I forget the engine went out of production 15 years ago!

tomei actually just raised prices on everything very recently, and the super bead will cost $280 instead of the $224

Maybe I'll just get real crazy and see if it will hold 14psi w/9.5:1 compression and a 75shot! LOL, that is the formula for a broken motor, right there!

I have been using ajusa headgaskets. i think they are made in spain or something. cost bugger all and have not blown one yet. I recommended them to a few friends and i know one guy running 20psi on a det and has had no problems.

I also use the ca18de gaskets on my ca20de and have had no problems so far, even with pretty high compresson

at the top of the page, it says "Looking for CA18 or SR20DE parts? Please call or email for quote." so i emailed kuah and inquired about gaskets.
