I think the correct title should be "Which gasoline/petrol BRANDS do you use/recommend, and what is your reason/experience for using them?"

^^^yep, especially the latter. I know there are many, especially in the oil industry, that say it's better to stick to just one brand, in order to improve the effectiveness of whatever tiny amounts of additives they add to the fuel. But I'm sure I'm not the only one that is unwilling to pay a significant premium or travel significantly farther just to stick with a specific brand for that small benefit.

I'd just go to whatever is closer, has the lowest price per gallon, since gas prices in Fl have skyrocketed upwards to the $3 per gallon mark, and if the surrounding area is safe.

Skyrocketed? :iconeek
To $3 a gallon? :orly: :lolling:

$1.50 a litre here, which makes that $5.678 (or $5.68 for rounding purposes) per gallon
That converts to USD$4.26 per gallon.

Europe is even higher than that.

We were at around $1.80 a litre when it was $4 a gallon back in 2011 (or 2013?) when I visited.
I road-tripped the hell out of the US at $4 a gallon, and would do it again.

Guys, Datechboss is right. This has nothing to do with his age. Gas prices in the US are now the highest they've been since 2004 and still climbing. It sucks. And US prices have always been a lot cheaper than Europe or Australia. Think in relative terms. It's akin to the oil companies quickly raising their prices in Europe by a pound. You'd complain too if you lived there. I think the oil companies/oil producing nations are short sighted as raising their prices just inspires more conversion away from fossil fuel.

No brand for me either.

I like a well-lit gas station and where the customers don't seem too skittish to get outside their cars and fuel up at ease.
Also, I like one with the bathrooms inside and you don't have to shyly beg for the key to the outhouse from the cashier; a key attached to a huge piece of pink plywood.

I would prefer one with no ethanol, but I can't remember the last time I saw one of those in the Midwest.

I think above all, I am loyal to the ones that have free air for my tires.

Really?
I paid more for gas in the US than that, and I have only been there in 2011 and 2013.

Yep, really. ;) I'm sure you did pay more in certain parts of the country you visited back then. I was referring to the national average price. Individual prices vary a lot depending on the location.

Funny you should mention that. I was recently in Sedona AZ with my wife, and surprisingly we encountered a gas station that had separate pumps for regular gas with and without ethanol added. Non ethanol gas carried a higher price. (less cr@p in it and they charge more -go figure :) ) since I had a rental, I went for the cheap stuff, but I haven't seen choices like that since the days of leaded/unleaded gas.

Usually Kroger, Speedway, or Thorntons locally for me because I get a discount at all 3. On the road, it's wherever is cheapest that doesn't use Ethanol.

I pretty much always go to Costco. It is easily .20.30 cents cheaper than everywhere else, even the cheap places like Speedway and Thorntons.

Also, Costco is apparently a Top Tier gas.

Thank you very much. Most of those cities in my states are not in my normal commute, but it is going to be tremendously helpful for roadtrips.

Lol, like this was a real shocker.

And Ozzie, gas was significantly more expensive in the US in 2011.

Gas was definitely higher in 08/09 than it was in 2004, or now.

Most certainly. I was paying $4.50 a gallon to fill the Q (22 gal tank) and it was a little painful.
Right now I'm paying a little over $3.

(This is for 91, which is premium at this altitude.)

That's what I thought.
First rental I got was a V8 (A Mercury Grand Marquis slow a** POS), because no care.
Drove it from LA to AZ, and brought shame to the driveway of Nico headquarters.
(It was like driving grandma's couch)
