im going to boost up soon to the Z32 MAF and wanted to know wich fuel manager would be good to use with the stock sr20det redtop maf and stock ecu and then the z32 maf...

i was thinking which should i get... the SAFCI or the SAFCII its a street car i dont need to tune it for a 10 second pass the car is going to run mid 13s so what do you think i should use...

i searched in many forums and all i could get was what was the difference between the wiring in the two SAFCs and tune settings...

first i need to know which one is best for me... they dont have to be APEX i just thought those are the best if you know of one that will suit me better im up for recomendations...

have someone socket your ECU and chip tune it. nissan ecu's can hold their own.

well what features are you hoping to have? Cheap and aftermarket ECU's are not exactly synonymous yanno. If you're looking for a chipped ecu, ball park would be ~500 and if you're looking for a stand alone, you're talkin anywhere from 600 for some stuff that will require work and assembly on your part and alot of trouble shooting, to a couple grand. your budget will dictate what features you will have, seriously for something like this...

i want something really simple im trying to run good times at the strip somewhere between mid 13s and high 12s when i finish the car...

im going right now for a little more than 200whp and looking to invest only in

boost controller injectorsECU or PIGGYBACKfrontmount intercooler (already in the process of buying the last things to mount) already have 3` exhaust

after that id guess well change the exhaust manifold hook up a gt28rs (its used for street not drag or anything so id guess this is a good turbo to get for its quick spool and good its reliable to more than 300whp and im think about getting cams (dont know wich right now when i get the turbine not to agressive but more than the stock ones at least) and the interiors well just put the thing i need for a reliable 15lbs... and reliable i mean its a daily driven car and i want it to run that time or at least have 300whp so i know yeahs im asking for way too much for a low budget but any help i can get id would like to know what you think i should do...

please no negative post im just looking for help from other owners of ssr20s and people who have tried or have already hit those number and what they think is best... not people to tell me i should quit or sumthing...

E-manage ultimate or there are some companies that are converting Microtechs and Haltechs into "interceptors" so you can keep the benefits of stock ECU. New PROM accomplishes basically the same thing, just not as easy to change.

For just 200whp, I'd just get an enthalpy rom and use an afc to refine it to your particular needs, then call it a day. Don't forget the other supporting parts ie mafs, injectors, and larger smic or a small fmic.

Megasquirt can do all that and more Its a complete replacement for your ECU. But you have to make it yourself. And by that i really mean soldering stuff onto the circuit board. I got my race car running complete standalone Megasquirt in about 30 mins after completing soldering it together. Its not what you call full featured (no idle adjustment for A/C etc...) but it makes cars run, and its cheap.

btw i need idle adjustment cause when i turn on the AC it just tries to die... when i turn it off it just great...

well that the first stage basically 200whp

but how about when i try to hit the 300whp?? i want something that will work for BOTH

and when i say budget priced im not saying like CHEAP i mean not just something with so many pro things ill never use and that why it cost so much... i want something that will work with both of the power levels i want and isnt going make me spend more money than is needed for this...

i was thinking about enthalpy but its just well i have to send it out NOW for a tune and then again each time when i get bigger mods... i also want something i can change fast like taking it to people who tune piggybacks and stand alones and getting a lower price than tunning the stock ecu like enthalpy... i dont know im getting frustrated already HAHAHA thanks for all the suggestions im cheking each and everyone out...

An SAFCI/II should be fine for 300whp, with or without a "tuned" ecu. After that, not being able to control to timing becomes a problem.

Your idle problem also likely has to do with a vacuum leak or malfunctioning IACV.

but it only happens when i turn on the AC... that when the idle is a problem if its off ir runs great
