the best in numbers is the Stillen exaust system. Its putting up the best numbers. it has +16hp. not bad. The closest competitor is at only +8hp.its funny because DC Sport didnt believe that Stillen got +16 hp on thier dino so they did there own test. know what they got? +17 hp....lol

G, what did you pay for your Stillen catback system? Did you do the work yourself in the garage (no lift)? Is the sound droning at highway speeds?

I had a flowmaster on my late-model firebird, and it was really annoying at highway speeds....I really don't want to do that with my G35!

Hey Joe...I bought mine off E-Bay for $900 Canadian. It was only used for 2 months and saw no rain. It looked brand spank'n new when I got it. I couldn't believe it. Y-pipe was also included. Major steal on that one.

My friend owns a garage so I had use of a lift which was a huge bonus!

Didn't take very long to do the install.

As far as the sound. I love it..even on the highway. I don't find it over bearing loud. It has a great "grumble" is the best way I can describe it.

Come on...go for it!!

FYI, Stillen makes 2 different exhaust systems for the G35 coupes. They have a single pipe version that can be had with or without a Y-pipe. Then they have their dual exhaust which uses an X-pipe. The X-pipe version is the one that makes the most power.

Unfortunately, Flowmasters are junk as far as mufflers are concerned. They still use chambered designs, but open it up greatly to try and improve flow. To get the flow high enough to be decent, they have to open it up a lot allowing a ton of noise to pass through it. Tests have shown straight through designs using perforated cores have better flow with better noise suppression.

As far as Stillen, tests also confirm that Stillen's exhaust has been the quietest overall. At least with their dual exhaust systems for the Z and the G.

Oh, I'm sold on the Stillen!

C-Kwik, you mentioned that they sell 2 versions...does one version get rid of the cat converter(s)-thus making more power?

I need to keep my emissions intact...

both of the stillen systems are CAT-BACK. they go behind and bold directly to the cat. I also have the stillen duel exaust. i though removed the cats for a deeper sound and replaced them with Glass packs. i wanteed sound and performance.

if i were you i would go with the stillen duel with the x pipe. Great choice!!!

i take it your in cali. like me?

The HKS Hi-Power duals have a nice growl to them but since you're not really into them...scratch that.

My other choices would be Stillen, APS, or Nismo.

Thanks G-Whizz. I am loving the 07 Sedan!!! Went to buy the coupe and after test driving the Sedan I had to take it over the coupe. But yeah I did some reasearch and no pats are coming out any time soon for the 07's. Only thing I did i put some 20's on it. BLACK ON BLACK!

Nope...neither replace the cats. With the single pipe version you can order it less the Y-pipe or with. Hell, you can order the Y-pipe by itself if you wanted. But I would spend the extra money and get the full dual.

I am not 100% positive but I think there is. ask for JOE in parts. Very helpful. Let him know you belong here. I'd be interested to know. He might talk to you about the M-Rev kit too. That I am also considering as well.

Interesting...where did you read that? I'm looking into getting a DC sports exhaust for my G in the future...

I've been to many dyno days here in Florida that featured many different types of modded G's and Z's sporting different exhausts and I have never seen one dyno +17hp due to an exhaust. And this is including the stillen exhaust when I say that. At most an after market exhaust for our cars is good for 5 horsepower if that...If your FI, then its different...

From what I've seen, the Borla, Fujitsubo, Fast Intention Intimidator and Greddy EVO2 are very quiet at regualr speeds until you go WOT unless you add high flow cats/test pipes.

The HKS true dual has a higher pitched tone than our stock exhaust sound.

The Injen, Pro1/Topspeed/Invidia exhaust, is very loud with inside cabin drone that can be annoying for some.

The best exhaust system is the one that fits your budget, sound and styling preference.

Well, he didn't say that directly...but he did look up something while I was on hold. He also mentioned that Stillen has monthly price changes...could have been a tactic to get me to buy now. (still need the OK from the boss)

Have any of ya'll seen this one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

It looks just like the HKS Hi-Power System. But it claims to be for both the Z and the G. Even with the two 8 inch extension pipes, wouldn't the tips not clear the rear bumper?IDK... I am thinking about the HKS system though...
