I was wondering which engine management system i should get for my s13 with an sr20det...? eventually i would like to get at least 400 whp but that may take some time. i dont have a lot of money right now but i would rather save and get something good later, rather than get something cheap/crappy now. I am new to nissans so give me some options...

Check out the APEXI SAFC-II and the Greddy E-Manage systems.

The AEM EMS is expensive and it may be overkill. It replaces the OEM ECU entirely while the APEXI and Greddy units piggyback into the wiring.

if you're on a budget, forget it. save your cash instead of buying into some intermediate step that you'll get minimal returns for. electronics are expensive. unless you've got a dire need for it like (a z32 mafs with a modified fuel system to deal with a new turbo) then you're gonna bite the bullet with an ecu tune to tide you over till you can afford something adjustable. If you're still fairly stock, don't waste your cash on that, you don't need it yet.
