which engine do I have??? 1993 240sx convertable automatic?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I JUST bought this car and am trying to figure out what is the official engine in it for modification research????? I'm wanting to get it ready to go drag racing next Wednesday. Nitro

a KA24DE if it is dual cam or a KA24E if it is single cam. its most likely a KA24DE

Really easy, does it say ECCS anywhere under your hood in large letters?

Your logic is backwards. It was ONLY verts in 94. You could could a vert any time, but in 94 that was your only choice.

I just pried open the bent hood (hey, for $500, I'll replace the hood and fender!) It says on the valve cover twin cam. However, I do not see ECCS anywhere. What is ECCS? Nitro

Dont worry about it. you have a KA24DE.

Just make sure hat nothing more is bent, like the unibody. Take some pics, will ya?

coupes and hatches 89-92, coupe, hatch, and vert 93, vert only 94

only the 89 and 90 have SOHC which is the KA24E at 140 hp. 91 and up have the DOHC which is the KA24DE so you definitly have the DE.

Im not sure, but i think this is what you could get:

89's and 90's had only SOHC.91's and 92's had the option for both motors from factory, DOHC standard.93's and 94's had only DOHC.

Its all in the manual.Here, looky:
