Anyone know which spring kit to get?? I am looking into getting my NAH lowered at lease in the front but do I get the spring kit for the 3.5 or 2.5???

I have read in other forums and this one but both has been used in the hybrid. Kind of confusing......

Thanks in advance.

If I remember right, the hybrids use the 3.5 se suspension...not the 2.5L one. i would go with the V6 springs. Someone put on the 2.5 in the upgrade thread and his rear dropped a little more than the front. He put in the stock rears springs to offset the look of the dropped front.

I was looking at the eibachs, i would get the 3.5 kit for my NAH.

My issue now is, which shocks will work best with the eibachs for the NAHs?

Then the mod bug bites me again and ai start thinking about 18" Nismo rims. *sigh* which tires and swapping the damn TPMS things...crap, what do I do about a spare? HAHAHAHA

Tell me about the upgrade chain reaction. I got the nismo 19" maxima wheels, falken tires, and a set of used tpms. Now I think I need springs.

I heard that the only diference between the 3.5 and 2.5 spring kits are the front springs. Both kits use the same rear springs but then again I could be wrong. I am leaning towards the 3.5 V6 pro kit also but want to get more opinions before I make the purchase.

I would say the 3.5's becasue of the weight. The hybrid weighs more than any of the altimas - the 3.5SL weights 3407 lbs, and the hybrid weights 3470 lbs. 2.5's are around 3200 lbs. I would definatly go with the 3.5 sedan springs.

I went with the 2.5 eibach springs. As already mentioned, the rear dropped way too much for my taste. The next day I switched the back to the stock rear springs. I didn't feel like just wasting those rear eibach springs, so I figured out how to use them. I used a "spring booster", pretty much a polyurethane spacer that fits between two of the coils to prevent the spring from fully compressing (there are several brands and types)...worked like a charm. With the rear now sitting just right, I wish I had slightly more of a drop in the front.

You should be able to find those spring boosters at just about any auto part store. I got mine at Pepboys. Good luck with your setup...

Called up Eibach with my dilemma because I planned out weight distribution over the front and rear of the car. I ended up getting transferred to R&D and I left a message. Here is my chart:

As you can see, our front matches up well with the 3.5MT, but our pig butts are ~175 lbs more.

update: Talked to eibach today and they said on a hybrid they have installed the 3.5 springs. It went from being 1" (26mm) higher in front with the stock springs to 1.3" (34mm) higher in front with the 3.5" kit. So if you think you'll notice, you should keep that in mind.

Also, the stock nissan springs seem to be the same across all models (I'm guessing there are differences elsewhere amidst models). The butts are the same weight if you look at my chart b/w the 2.5 and 3.5, but the front is way heavier on the 3.5 front.

Anyhoos, I'm probably going to pick up the H&R 3.5 kit sometime in march or april. They have slightly more of a drop in the front and less of a drop in the rear compared to the eibachs. The eibach kit claims the 3.5 is a 1.4" drop in front and a 1.2" drop in the rear and the eibach tech confirmed that this lead to an 8mm difference. With the H&R kit, it's 1.5" and 1.0" which should (hopefully) negate this difference, leaving it only the stock 1" higher in the front than the rear. This combined with a spring damper kit might give the car a better stance and even the look out a little more.

edit: I'll also take the stiffer ride of the H&R springs
