Hey I'm about to order an ecu off ebay for my rb20det. My ecu has the number 30 stamped on it. The ones on ebay have the number 22. Is their a real difference thanks. My rb is an 89-90 i guess(has the rb20 stamped on the timing belt cover), it's also a 5 spd. Thanks guys!

Ask the seller for the part number on the sticker (lower left) and cross check it with yours.

I am only familiar with RB25 ecu's.

iirc 30 isnt a 20det ecu...they are either 2x blue label or Bx black label.

there is a decent variance of rb20 ecu's out there.

AUTO/MANUAL and the year does not matter so much.

What will make for a bad situation, is mis-matching a cefiro ECU with a skyline harness or vice versa.

Which harness do you have? does it have the easy to remove quick clips? Or the Square pin clips?

Quick clips = HCR32Square = Cefiro

Both ecu's will fire up both cars, but at LEAST the TPS is placed differently, I myself attempted re-pinnig one and found little to NO documentation on the Cefiro ecu to do this with.

So.

#65 is cefiro

MECR-212 is the HCR32 Skyline. Sorry, the ecu right here doesnt have a number i can read.

I just got the rb20det ecu and my car still wont crank....My injectors still arent clicking, they only click when I probe the ecu so the ecu isn't grounding them. I don't know what to do...Now the car will not run or sputter on starter fluid. I really need to work on it tommorow....Anyone have ideas?

Here are my grounds.I have my ground distribution block connected to my injector harness. ( blue cable)Here is the actual distribution blockThis cable leads to the back of the head near the exhaust manifold. I have the ground kit connected to it as well as a cable going to the firewall.I also have a cable grounded hear at the cruise control ****...Which will change because I'm removing it.I have my negative cable connected to the block underneath the intake mani. The other ground on the negative should be connected to what? I have it on the ground distribution block...

Heres the real mess. I haven't shrink wrapped anything cause I want it to work first then shrink wrap it...I want to see if everything hooked up to the right things...I followed skillzillas guide on rboosted I think...Heres my ecu...I hope this is the right one...I have the earlier rb20det with rb20 stamped on the timing cover...Here are my relays which buzz or "stick" after I try to crank my car. They click when I move the key forward and also buzz when I move the key back after I try starting the engine...Could they have a grounding problem? How could I ground them if theres a way to do it?Thanks for everyones help, sadly car engine doesn't run yet, but hope to have it up and running soon...

I also found this...My buddy helped me remove the harness. I'm pretty sure these wires went to the ecu...WTF are they for? Could this be an issue?

What is the ground box for exactly???

The ecu is what grounds your injectors.

I know the ecu grounds my injectors. The good thing is that I finally got injector pulse. The injectors are now firing. The engine still does not want to run. I suspect either timing or ignitor. I need to test for spark tommorow. Thanks everyone for all their help. It was the ecu that was the problem. Now It's something else. Let's see how it goes.
