Which Drive_shaft Do I Use??????

i have a '91 body and putting a '95 motor/transmission....which drive shaft do i use. A '91 driveshaft that i got a hold of as not the kind where the shaft just slides in it was bolted up to the manual transmission.......I also got a hold of a '95 manual driveshaft and it did not fit as well.....the two middle bolts that hold the rubber bearing type deal up were way off......what drive shaft do i use will the automatic drive shaft work

I swapped in a 97 engine and used an 89 manual transmission. there are two different length drive shafts that I am aware of so far. The shorter of the two drive shafts came from a 240 with ABS and VLSD. If I am not mistaken, the reason the drive shaft is shorter is because of the speed sensor (ABS) is installed in the front of the Differential housing, thus making it (DIFF) longer and the driveshaft shorter. I had the same problem you are having. The drive shaft support wouldn't line up and it wasn't fully inserted into the transmission. I finally used the NON-ABS driveshaft since my car doesn't have the speed sensor in the differential. Everything worked out fine after that.

i believe the 2 drive shafts are like the same size its just the drive shaft support is like 6 inches away from the holes........should i get the 91 manual transmission and drive shaft or which drive shaft do i need..the drive shaft i got is for '95 240 manual with no ABS........what do i do i have a week to finish this.......thanx 240doc
