Hey I'm picking up a ca18det and I don't think it has the downpipe on it, can someone tell me if I could use an SR down pipe, or if not, where I could find a ca18det downpipe? Whats my best option? I will be running 2.5 straight exhaust through an open muffler and the stock turbo and manifold. (for now).

As far as i know you need to buy an sr downpipe and cut it slightly shorter, rotate the flange a bit and weld it back on. Daunt was planning on making CA downpipes but when i checked last it still wasn't for sale yet so i went ahead and ordered an sr one.

which flange do you need to weld? the one near the exhaust manifold, or the rear one going to the muffler? I'm wondering cause i'm making a custom exhaust and if i can use the front flange to bolt to my existing exhaust pipe(off the turbo) it would make things easier...

does anyone have a picture of what theirs looks like after the welds? I'm betting I can pick up someone's stock sr down pipe and take it to a good muffler shop around here to do the work.

hey I have been searching my *** off this and not turning up much. apparently, from what I've found , the stock s13 sr20 downpipe should bolt up (along with aftermarket ones). maybe someone who has done the swap and see both engines side by side could help me... I know the turbos have the same housing but I don't know if they are located the same. thanks as always.

to use the sr20det downpipe, you need to use the sr20 turbo extension. then everything SHOULD bolt up.

You had to cut that on the exhaust manifold side and reweld that for it to fit, correct?

do you really NEED a 3" front pipe? I'd expect that a 2.5" would be just fine for the front pipe, but after the cat I'd want close to 3"

I dont know if you need it or not, but I got my blitz down pipe for 100$ from someone else so I took that instead of buying the HKS one.

I'm still looking for one. Size doesn't really matter, price is more important to me. I'm keeping the stock setup for at least a while, and I just need to get it running on my budget.

actually, upon futher investigation of Kakimoto's website, they make a CA18 specific downpipe, whether it's the same as the SR downpipe, I don't know, but I don't really care anymore, as long as they atleast carry one that they say fits the CA, it's $150 MSRP in Japan, and their cat-back exhaust is $550 MSRP, so I'm goin' Kakimoto for my exhaust when the time comes :D

I bet everyone would still like to know, though

Takakaira has the HKS front pipe listed for $109. It is the same one that was on that British site that someone posted.

The SR downpipe does work but it will have to be cut, rotated and rewelded. If you want proof that it works...I bought an SR downpipe and its sitting in my house b/c i know it will work. If you give me 2 or 3 weeks i'll be doing the swap and i can take pics of anything you want as i plan on taking a bunch anyway.

I never said you didn't know what you were talking about, it's just that someone said that it'd bolt up, and someone said that it would need to be cut/re-welded.
