Which distributor do I have?

This probably should be a FAQ, but I can't find it anywhere online.

I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx (Canadian market version, vLSD, no AC, "SE Power convenience package"). Apparently it matters which distributor I have when I go to get a new distributor cap.

How do I tell whether I have a Hitachi distributor or a Mitsubishi distributor?

it probobly says somewere on the distributor, if you cant find it, i will go look on mine and see were it says it.

That would make sense, but it doesn't. Unles it's under the cap.

there is a label on the distributor on the outside where it meets the cap. It will have a part number and a logo. Note if you have the original cap on it it too will have a logo on it. hitachi it like a round circle disign and mitdubishi is the tringle one in which I am sure you are familiar with.
