there are lots of choices for this stupid coolant sensor. I looked at advanced autoparts and found many for turbo z32 and only 2 for the na. Which have you guys used? and yes i searched but no one specified just said z32

which coolant sensor?

The gauge sensor is the same as a KA.

The engine coolant (2 wire one) has to be sourced from Japan. They don't match up with anything here.

Wait... you have a Rb25 right?

I have an extra one for the 25... if you cover shipping, I will send it you for free. I would glady help out a NICO friend... least I can do for all the help I get here.

Just so you know... I thought for sure mine was bad... made no differance.

I can send it out in the next couple days if you want... otherwise I am going on vacation for a week, so you need to let me know fast.

I was just about to make this post actually, since I dont' trust mine!

I'd like to know which one can be used for the RB20, if the KA maybe was the same or something?

Not the one for the gauge either.

Test them. Hook the KA and RB sensors up in series with an AA battery and put them in a pot of water on the stove. As you heat the water, if the voltage across either of the thermistors stays right about 1/2 of the battery voltage, then they are the same internally.

The charts in the FSMs definitely suggest that they are the same internally.

I should be more specific as well...

I have an RB20... I am still having issues with cold start and idling... I thought for sure it was my coolant temp sensor. So, I spent a couple months this winter trying to source a replacement to verify if that was the issue or not. I wound up replacing the sensor, but it didn't affect my issues at all.... I am sure if you do have a bad sensor, your engine would suffer, but I would guess it is something else.. just based on my experience.

I found that there are no temp sensors sold here in the states that have the correct size and wiring adapotor (PLUG AND PLAY). I am sure you can find another temp sensor with the correct internals, voltage, etc.. and you can redo the wiring. Honestly, it would be a great thing if someone would spend some time researching that to find out for future referance.

So, since I was not able to find a direct replacement, I found a guy in Japan who was able to send me a sensor. He infact sent me two... one for a Rb20 and one for a RB25. I don't have much use for the 25, so I will send it to you KUILLIN_DRIFTER.

I can't check my email while at work, so I will check it at home tonight and see if I can get it sent out with a tracking # for you tomorrow.
