i just replaced my clutch with an oem like 2000 miles ago and its already ****in up again. i talked to a friend of mine and he says since i'm drifting my car its stupid to have an oem clutch and i should upgrade to a stage 3. but another friend of mine says that i should get a stage 2 because stage 3 is to hard to drive on the street. but i have heard that the stage 2 is close to stock. what would you guys suggest? stage 3 or stage 2? its a bone stock 300zx other than the hks hiper cat back exhaust so its probably at around 200whp if im lucky so power isnt an issue. also if anyone would like to suggest a brand to go with that isnt ridiculously expensive, i'm hoping to spend 600 or less for the clutch if i can.

ok first of all the "stages" mean absolutely JACK****ING****

each manufactuer has a different definition for their "stage 2" or "stage 3"

tell your friends to stop being idiots

anyway, yes putting in an oem clutch in a car you drift was stupid. they did get that right. i am an advocate of overbuilding your clutch when you take the time to put one in, because at some point you are going to want more power.

i HIGHLY recommend RPS clutches. look at their MAX series pressure plate, and 6 puck SPRUNG disc. you can run an unsprung in a drift car, but that can transfer a lot of shock into the transmission and clutches are cheaper to replace than transmissions

i ran an RPS on my RB25 for over 4 years and never had a problem with it. i wish i could have afforded one for my new engine.

thanks for the information, but how does the rps max series pressure plate and 6 puck sprung disc feel, does it require alot of pressure to engage?

it is significantly stiffer than stock, but still daily drivable.
